An excellent warm-weather option for side sleeping backpackers or anyone who wants more ergonomic room and comfort in a sleeping bag, the NEMO Women's Jam 30 Degree bag utilizes a unique "Spoon Shape" design to provide adjustable comfort and weight savings.
Down insulation has long been renowned for its compressible properties and efficiency in delivering an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. The shortcoming of down has been its susceptibility to the effects of moisture, losing much of its performance qualities when wet or damp. The Women's Jam 30's premium 800-fill Nikwax Hydrophobic down insulation provides water-repellency that keeps the insulation dry longer and allows it to dry faster if it should become wet. More importantly, it maintains thermal efficiency even if it becomes wet, a quality that could traditionally only be found in heavier, less-compressible synthetic fills. The bag's lightweight 20D ripstop nylon shell has a DWR treatment to further protect the insulation from the elements.
NEMO’s innovative Spoon Shape contours give you extra space where it matters most. The cut starts wide in the shoulders, tapers in at the hips for comfort and warmth, and flares back out through the knees, letting you bend and shift naturally throughout the night. Another unique feature is NEMO's "Thermo Gills", zippered panels that enable you to vent body heat at your core without having to unzip the entire bag. This temperature regulation feature allows the bag to remain comfortable in varying temperatures. A waterproof/breathable footbox protects the bag further from the condensation build up that frequents the inside of tent walls.
Other comfort features include a fully-insulated hood and NEMO’s soft, down-filled Blanket Fold design. This insulated panel at the collar of the bag mimics home bedding and can be tucked around the face on cold nights or lay flat when it’s not needed. A contoured side zipper and down-insulated draft tube keep cold air out of the bag's interior. Drawcord adjustments around the face can be tightened or loosened as needed. A small zippered pocket provides a place to safely stash valuables.
Available in your choice of Regular (fits to 5’ 6") and Long (6’ 0") lengths, the NEMO Women's Jam 30 Degree sleeping bag includes a stuff sack and a storage sack.

Real Customer Reviews
- Exactly as expected - great.
Likes: Pillow stuff sleeve even more useful than expected - so long as you have extra soft clothing available there's no need for a separate pillow. The unique shape proved to be every bit as comfortable as expected, no more feeling constrained/unable to get into that perfect position to sleep. Definitely worth the slight increase in weight.
One point of note - at 5'2" the regular size fit pretty much perfectly. While I'm certain that up to 5'6" would fit inside the bag as per Nemo's specs I'm not certain how comfortable such would be. If in the 5'4" to 5'6" range I'd highly recommend trying out the bag in a store before purchase to confirm sizing.
Dislikes: It's heavier than alternatives, but that's the trade-off for all the extra comfort it offers. Such is part of why we went with the Jam 30 rather than the Jam 15 or Rave. The price increase over the Rave may seem like a lot for the 4oz weight difference, but a quality sleeping bag is likely going to be used for decades. Similarly the 12oz difference between the 30 and 15 degree models is enough to justify getting the 30 and then bringing along an extra ~16oz down blanket to make up the difference when cold weather camping.
- Good if you like the shape
Dislikes: Felt slightly shorter than expected.
- soft and roomy
Likes: very roomy for side sleepers like me
- Loveee this sleeping bag!!! I did a lot of research before I found the NEMO spoon style sleeping bag. I’m a cold sleeper so I decided to go with the 800 fill instead of the less expensive 650.
Likes: Love the vents! They let the warm air out without letting cold air in! I really feel bundled up in this bag! The built-in slip to stuff a pillow or clothes is awesome! With the stuff sack this bag compacts pretty small and is light weight, so it really helped lighted my load compared to my old sleeping bag. I really have no complaints.
Dislikes: I may end up sending this bag back (30 degree) and upgrading to the 15 degree because I love it so much, since I’ve only been using it in the summer months, and I’d rather have the extra warmth for the fall and spring months in the colder NY weather!! This bag is worth the price!
