A versatile option for year-round backpacking and camping, the Therm-A-Rest Women’s Trail Pro has some gender-specific design features. A 5.1 R-value makes it extremely warm and it’s still compact enough for backpacking usage and gives you that great level of comfort with this lush, 2-inch thick foam base. Pressure mapping throughout the pad gives you increased padding, comfort and cushioning in those areas you need it most. Bolstered warmth in the feet, hips and torso again for women’s-specific needs there in staying warm throughout the night. Die cut foam helps to save weight by thinning things out when you don’t need additional support. Again, that diagonal cut will keep this pad warm by retaining that R-value and not allowing that heat to escape. Like all Therm-A-Rest self-inflating sleeping pads, this is built in Seattle, Washington. The fabrication here on top has a nice, non-stick surface that keeps you on the pad throughout the night. It also feels great when it comes to next-to-skin feel. Reinforced fabrics on the bottom increase durability and save on wear and tear. Therm-A-Rest also includes a stuff sack with this pad for ease of travel, ease of storage. Therm-A-Rest does recommend that you store any self-inflating pad with the integrated valve open. When they ship the pads, they are in a compressed state, so when you purchase a self-inflating pad, it’s recommended that you open that valve and give the pad 24 hours or whatever time you can give it open, so that foam can rebound a little bit and get to something closer to full inflation.
