fingers crossed

Bought the SOL bivy because of their reputation in the industry. Which is top notch. Like airbags in your car, it is not something you can test out before you need it. Then you hope like heck it works. So if there is a time that I need the bivy, and I survive, I'll update this review. otherwise ....

Good in case of an emergency

Likes

Packs small and weights nothing. Like that you can reused and not just a one time use.

Dislikes

It is thinner than anticipated but than again it only weights 3oz.

I always just carried a space blanket and a friend suggested this.

Quality lightweight protection

I have unpacked and repacked this item. It is a quality product. I do a lot of solo winter climbing and feel much better having this should I get injured or sick. It will certainly buy some time by keeping the wind/snow out and the heat in.

It comes in a very small package...about the size of a tennis ball. I am putting it in my first aid/repair kit which lives in a small dry bag that I keep either in my bike panniers when I am riding to and from work, or in my day pack when I am in the mountains. Seems like a great thing to have in the event of being a first responder or if I get caught out when I am on solo day trips.

Dislikes

No dislikes at this time. I hope I never need to use it.

It so light I don't notice it and that's good since I hope I never need it.

Dislikes

It's a little bulkier than I thought it might be, not bad though.

Very small and lightweight, tougher than standard "space blankets" . Great back up for emergencies.
