Sierra Designs Zia Series Tents Video

We take a look at the versatile zia series of tents from sierra designs. These three seasons tent can be used for camping, there can be used for backpacking. Look at the believable features really great space inside these tents and nice organizational feature. It is also definitely value oriented offering in that sierra designs includes a custom fit foot print and also a custom fit gear low in any and all sizes of the zia. The main body of the tent is protected by the 75D polyester rain fly. There is a 1500mm treatment on that to ensure that it is water proof also tapes in through out the rain fly. That full coverage fly does create two vestibules over the two doors of the tent. Slightly larger front vestibule on the zia three which I'm sitting in right now is got about 8 ¾ square foot of capacity in front of the tent so a place to get packs boots and other gear. In and out of the elements but safe space inside the actual interior of the tent, slightly smaller rear vestibule which again allows for exterior storage. So pull back the rain fly to take a closer look at the actual tent body. The structure here is 70 d-polyester and also obviously mesh for better breath-ability and fighting against condensation build up inside the tent. Poles are constructed with of dark aluminum and we do have some unique technology here, this is not a traditionally dorm style tent. Sierra design is utilizing an X frame technology, you can see a hub pole design that meet here in the center and then comes out to these points in front each of the d-shaped doors. Actually makes the door side wall go slightly beyond verticality really makes it roomy and spacious inside the tent itself and improves that vestibule space as the rain fly come off those pole connection points. Slightly unique in putting up because it isn’t a traditional doom style tent, so first time your putting this up this tent you definitely will follow sierra designs instructions, attaching these front poles, settling them down and then putting X frame again that hogged pole design into those connection poinst and popping the tent perfectly into place. Light weight clip again makes things easy color coded constructions on the corner points also make matching of the fact that again there is a custom footprint for this tent, the pole gram that’s at each of the corners runs through keep that foot print in place and protect the floor of the tent from the wear and tear of roots, rocks, ground water and other debris. So back inside the zia to help illustrate how roomy the interior of these tents really is. There three different sleeping path in here two of the 20inches wide, one of them is actually a wide pattern, it's 25inches in length and there is still room for all three in Zia. So ample room for three sleepers, it's light weight enough again it's not just a light tent by any means. But light weight enough two bag packers could split the weight and this would be an extremely roomy shelter. Storage options inside the zia there is a small mash pocket here to my left and other in the rear of the tent or at that other door and then a very sizable gear loft overhead. Again sierra design doesn’t include that as a nice feature so not only gear loft loops but the gear lofts itself. Great place to get extra layers up and off the floor head lamps, small gear between that and those front vestibules you can save the interior space for you the sleeping bags, sleep pack.. Get really fun of the zia series, I do think it's a great vestibule option gear for camping or backpacking kind of a do it all three season offering from sierra designs.
