Outdoor Research Women's Aspire Jacket

I'm wearing the Outdoor Research Women's Aspire Jacket. This is a GORE-TEX Paclite piece. This is very lightweight and extremely waterproof and breathable. It's perfect for a day like today because it's kind of cold and dreary and it's drizzling on and off and it excels in extreme wet weather. We've had it outside the past couple of days. It's been fairly wet, kind of pouring here on and off and we had some pretty high winds and I was out in this thing most of the day and stayed really dry. The Women's Aspire Jacket has a lot of really great features but they are simplified and dialed down to the point where this thing packs up really small, it's very lightweight and it's going to be excellent for anybody that's backpacking or climbing because you're going to get this full weather protection with this small piece of gear that's going to tuck in a pack well. So you've got a full front zipper and it is a two-way zipper meaning you have access to the waist area so if you are climbing and need to access a harness with this jacket on, you're going to be able to do that quite simply. You do have two zippered hand pockets and they are waterproof zippers as well as a small pocket on the bicep with a waterproof zipper as well. Adjustable cuffs let you seal out the weather a little bit more and one of Outdoor Research's stand out features are their TorsoFlo zippers so you’ve got this zipper that runs all the way up to the bicep here, opens the jacket all the way. You've got one on either side which is going to allow you to do both and kind of wear it like a poncho. You can zipper it down all the way or you can unzip part of it and just have a regular pit zip. The jacket does have a full hood. As you can see here, I do have it dialed down, there's an adjustment piece in the back here. Pull the tension in here so it's fitted around the crown of my head. You also have two drawcords here at the sides of the face. You can adjust those snug down against the face. When I turn my head, the jacket moves with me. And just to clean up these features a little bit, OR has the ends of those adjustable bungee cords on the inside of the jacket where they lay out of the way and they’re not going to flap in the wind against your face.
