Hi, my name is Jerry and I’ve been designing apparel for Outdoor Research for over 10 years now. Today, I’m going to show you why the Foray jacket is a favorite of mine, and often ends up in my pack when I’m heading out for a hike. The Foray and Aspire jackets have a lot of great features, they’re made of Gore-Tex Paclite fabric, which is waterproof, breathable and lightweight and compressible. All the seams are fully seam-taped to keep you dry in the rain. The hood has front and back adjustments so you can totally dial-in your range of vision. The Foray and Aspire jackets have TorsoFlo venting, which allows you to un-zip from the hem all the way up to the bicep. It gives you great ventilation, but it also keeps you dry in the rain. Another great reason to have the TorsoFlo on your jacket is it lets you lift the front of your jacket over your pack belt when you’re climbing those steep hills to give you more ventilation. Something else you may not know about is the inside chest pocket, which also doubles as a stuff sack. I like the foray because it’s lightweight, it’s totally waterproof, it stuffs into a little ball and you can throw it in any pack you have.
