Hey folks, just out going for a hike today and knew it was going to be in a spot where there were a lot of steep up-hills and down-hills which means I wanted a pant that was really comfortable, had a lot of stretch. I also wanted it to breathe really well and since the weather was looking questionable and sort of damp I wanted some weather protection too which is why I pulled the Marmot women’s Rockstar pants out of my closet and put them on. This is the perfect pant for this sort of activity. It’s made from marmot’s M3 softshell fabric which is their most breathable and lightest fabric that Marmot builds in a softshell and this pant in particular is extremely comfortable due to a 4-way stretch that was built into it. There are water repellant properties to it so if it does start to drizzle on me I’m all set and that water is going to be shed off easily while I remain fairly dry without having to have worn an actual rain pant which would be too much on a day like today where I’m doing a lot of climbing and the temperatures are between 50 and 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Overall the Rockstar pant is going to perfect for any sort of high aerobic activity where you want full freedom and range of motion. That 4-way stretch fabric is going to offer incredible movement and there is a gusseted crotch in this design. So if you are doing any rock climbing, which requires full range of motion, cycling or trail running, you’ll want to take a look at the Rockstar pant. It’s going to have a lot of the features you’re looking for and meet a lot of your needs. So let me cover the basic features of this pant. It doesn’t have tons of bells and whistles, that’s the idea, it’s designed to be pretty slim fitting so there isn’t a lot of extra fabric flapping around and suits climbers and cyclist well for this reason. So it’s a slim fitting pant with a lot of stretch to it. At the base of the cuff you’ve got a 4 or 5 inch zipper which gives some adjustability for wrapping over the edge of a boot and at the top you’ve got two, zippered hand pockets with just enough space to tuck in chap stick or keys. The back of the pant is smooth fitting and there aren’t any extra pockets or material that might snag on something. This pant is designed for someone who wants to move fast, stay relatively dry and have fantastic breathability.
