The Expedition Mitt from Marmot is suitable for extreme winter weather, just as the name implies, it’s designed for winter expeditions. This mitt is made from marmot’s waterproof breathable MemBrain, so you have an outer shell that’s woven and then you’ve got that waterproof breathable MemBrain inside. So it’s completely weather-worthy. The inside of the mitt is insulated with Primaloft insulation. This is a very thick, very soft, high-loft insulation and it does a good job of mimicking down. It’s very lightweight and extremely compressible. On the palm of the mitt you have a Kevlar reinforced area at the index finger here and the palm and the thumb. And then you do have leather reinforcement through the rest of the fingers as well. The wrist of the Expedition Mitt has an adjustable strap so you can really snug this down tight and get a good fit out of it as well as a secure fit throughout the hand. You do have a long gauntlet on this mitt which is completely waterproof and breathable as well and you’ve got a single handed release and drawcord pull. A few final features of the expedition mitt, you do have a clip here for attaching with a carabiner onto a pack, you have a pairing clip to attach the mitts together and you do have a very soft nose wipe across the back of the thumb.
