Hello and welcome to Backcountry Edge. Today we’re taking a look at the Backpacker Pad from Kelty. This is a self inflating sleeping pad through a single valve at the top. It has a tapered mummy cut to reduce weight as well as die-cut self inflating foam throughout the pad. When you purchase this pad you’ll get a stuff sack and a repair kit. It packs up into a pretty trim profile for packing for backpackers. To inflate the pad you unroll it, open the valve and it slowly takes in air and will inflate on its own. After you’ve let the pad inflate for a couple minutes you can come back, blow a few breathes into the valve to tighten it up, screw the valve shut and the pad is ready for use.
