Gregory Savant Series Backpacks Video

We are going to take a closer look at Gregory's Savant Series Backpacks. Feature rich light weight backpacks that are perfect for overnighters for light weight backpacking or general travel. The Savant comes in a number of different capacities or sizes. We are looking at the Savant 48 leader pack at the moment. As with any Gregory pack I think the best place to start is with the suspension system, so we will turn this around. This is Gregory's Intuition 3D suspension system, a very streamlined very light weight design. Contoured back panel here also ventilated to help keep you cool when you are carrying the pack or have the pack on your pack. Inside this pack there is a wish bone shaped wire frame that enables it to support weight stabilized loads, fully padded contoured shoulder straps. Fully padded contoured waist belt and there is adjustability in both to ensure that you are getting and appropriate fit. I have to turn the Savant back around so that we can take a close look at some of its organizational feature, undone the buckles here to show that there is a lidded kind of traditional top entry to the pack. None traditionally there is a large horse shoe shaped here on the face of the pack that enables you to get right into the interior of the pack and quickly put hands on gear, really nice to have that versatility in getting to the interior of the pack. There is also and extremely sizable front stuff if pocket as well as side-mesh pockets. You can see I have got a water bottle in there, also large zippered ventilated pockets on the hip belt. A unique pocket here behind that side mesh pocket is really ideal for travel. Again when you kind of need a security stash pocket it stays snug against your side. Also I want to take a close look at a unique feature here on the top of the pack. The lid has a zippered pocket beneath it but in the back underneath this roll top enclosure at the back is a highly water resistant zipper that enables you to more confidently store things. I have got a cell phone in here, other electronics; tack them away to provide weather protection. Several gear attachments points on the Savant. Adjustability in this front compression straps that allow you to carry a sleeping pad a tent or other gear. Also Daisy loop chain loops on the face of the pack for further lash points. Side compression straps which cinch the load down and keep things securely in place or expand to secure gear to the sides of the pack. There are some additional loops here and at the bottom that are perfect for trekking poles or other tools. There is a hybrid pocket on this pack that sits behind the back panel but separate from the interior pack bag which is ideal for hydration systems. It doesn't come with a hydration system but it is compatible with most systems that are available separately. On the face of the pack in a dedicated pocket there is an integrated rain cover that fully protects the pack if weather turns bad. With all of these features, great load carrying capability the Savant really is a versatile pack, it is perfect for overnight trips, for weekends, for day hiking or general travel.
