Hi I’m Jay Getzel, National Sales Manager with Mountainsmith, here to talk to you about our new line of synthetic fill sleeping bags for 2011. These synthetic fill sleeping bags run the range from 35 degrees to 20 degrees to 0 degrees.
Within our new line of sleeping bags for 2011, we’ve created what we call a relaxed mummy fit. The relaxed mummy fit adds some girth to the bag in the shoulders, the hips and feet, making the room inside the bag a bit more comfortable for the user without adversely affecting the weight of the bags. In addition, all of our sleeping bags for 2011 have what we refer to as a one-size-fits-most sizing as far as the length goes. Not unlike our internal frame packs that offer adjustable suspensions, these sleeping bags are built to accommodate a range of user heights from about 5 foot, 8 inches to about 6 foot, 4 inches.
Within Mountainsmith’s synthetic sleeping bag line, there are some shared features. You’ll find a full-length, baffled zipper on all the bags as well as toe loops for hanging and drying at the foot of each bag in addition to tie-on loops that exist on both sides of the bag allowing you to string a piece of cord behind the bag and slip the bag over your sleeping pad.
One of the great added value features of the line of bags would be its silicone and nylon compression sack which offers a great, compact lightweight storage option for your bag while in the outdoors, and then the included cotton storage sack which comes in handy for storing the bag at home. You’ve got the three bags: the Poncha 35 Degree, that comes in at 2 pounds, 14 ounces, the Kenosha 20 Degree bag that comes in at 3 pounds, 10 ounces and the Monarch 0 Degree that comes in at 4 pounds, 10 ounces.
