The Vasque Men's Breeze 2.0 GTX hiking boot is a lightweight, waterproof hiking boot suitable for any length day hike on maintained trails with easy-to-moderate terrain.
The Vasque Breeze 2.0 GTX hiking boot is a lightweight, waterproof hiking boot suitable for any length day hike on maintained trails with easy-to-moderate terrain. A full GORE-TEX Extended Comfort Range (XCR) bootie keeps feet dry, and Airmesh nylon fabric and Nubuck leather construction offer a comfortable, supportive fit with little to no break in required.
Weighing roughly 2 pounds and 8 ounces per pair, the Breeze 2.0 GTX has a light and comfortable feel on your foot. The top of the boot is soft and pliable enough to snug the Breeze 2.0 GTX around your ankle or can provide gentle cushioning if you need some support but are not fond of a boot hugging your ankle. Protective rands at the heel and toe area increase durability in high wear areas of the boot.
Under foot you'll find a TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) plate to protect the bottom of your foot from the impact of roots and rocks, as well as a thick layer of EVA rubber to help cushion your foot on long hikes. Vasque uses its Arc Tempo last to create an athletic fit that promotes agility over technical terrain. The asymmetrical curve offers a good fit for people with higher arches and also places your foot in a more powerful position during toe off. A tapered toe box offers adequate room without wasted space and the medium volume heel fits a wide range of shapes. The outsole of the Breeze 2.0 GTX is a Vasque exclusive called Vibram Contact, which features aggressive, high-traction lugs at the heel and toe areas. A prominent heel edge provides better traction on steep descents. A speed lacing system at the ankle of this boot allows for quick lacing and fit adjustments.
Sold in pairs, the Vasque Breeze 2.0 GTX hiking boot is available in full and half sizes. To keep the leather on this boot in good shape, and to prevent water absorption in the upper for the life of the boot, you should apply a fabric and leather conditioner as well as a waterproofing treatment (both sold separately).

Likes: The stylish look of this boot is perfect for daily use. The solid construction is perfect for the trail.
Dislikes: As my grandmother would say, "What's not to like?"
Likes: My first attempt at buying hiking shoes. I spent hours reviewing shoes and the site was helpful and easy to understand the differences with other brands. Great value for the price and no break in period required. Going to find out quickly if they hold up in the rain as advertised. So far right on the money!
