The Outdoor Research Transcendant Hoody offers lightweight warmth and packability that can easily be carried into the backcountry, taken on ski tours, or worn around town. Ripstop fabrics and 650-fill goose down insulation trap body heat to keep you warm on cold days.
Renowned for their compressible properties and efficiency in providing insulation, the feathers and fibers of down have an incredibly soft, comfortable feel and continue to provide the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation available. Due to the high loft and compressibility of down, the Transcendant Hoody can be packed into its own pocket and easily stowed in a pack.
A storm flap behind the front zipper, stretch binding cuffs, adjustable drawcord hem, and highly wind-resistant ripstop outer fabric helps to seal out windy gusts and snow. The standard fit allows you to wear weatherproof shells over the Transcendant Hoody and makes it equally comfortable to wear alone. Two zippered hand warmer pockets are ready to warm chilly hands, a zippered chest pocket stows smaller items, and the brushed collar feels soft against chilled skin.
The Outdoor Research Transcendant Hoody is available in a variety of color and size options.

Real Customer Reviews
- Best light jacket
True to Size
Likes: Super light-weight, Soft and comfortable, Warm Hood.
Keeps you really comfortable even in below-freezing, windy conditions.
Dislikes: Fabric can snag but generally is very durable.
- Not your average cut.
Likes: Great loft and construction. A professional zipper. Zippers are really becoming a problem in outerwear.
Dislikes: The cut was too slim for me.
- Nice addition to my outdoor gear collection, perfect for spring and fall and a great piece for layering in winter. Seems really well constructed and durable.
Likes: fit true to size
adjustability in hood
internal storage pockets
Dislikes: haven't found any yet
- My favorite jacket
Likes: Perfect fit
Good hood adjustment options
Stash pockets inside jacket
(For my purposes, I prefer the warmth and fit of this jacket over the Patagonia Down Hoody.)
