A lightweight, versatile option for ultrarunners or ounce-counting thru-hikers, LEKI Micro Trail Vario adjustable length poles provide collapsibility and stability at a weight of just 13.47 ounces per pair.

Streamlined cork component grips employ LEKI’s Trigger Shark Active straps to deliver a connection point between your hands and the poles. This provides ergonomic performance, enhances agility, and effectively transfers power while in use. A security release system enables you to quickly connect and disconnect from the poles to change your grip position. If you prefer, you can remove the straps entirely and use the poles without them. An extended section of grip that extends down the pole shafts eliminates the need to shorten the length of the poles every time you encounter a steep slope or side hill traverse.

The shaft sections are connected by a concealed inner cord that runs through all three sections of the poles. After each shaft section is aligned, pull them taught until you hear the "click" that indicates the push-button lock is engaged. This innovate design saves weight and increases collapsibility while still delivering surprising strength. Unlike many foldable poles on the market, LEKI Micro Vario poles also offer a short range of adjustability. By utilizing the integrated easy-to-use Speed Lock lever, you can adjust the length of the poles from approximately 43"-51".

Integrated concave tips keep weight to a minimum while providing excellent traction. The housing of the tips also shaves ounces while delivering optimized swing weight.

Amazing
Reviewed by Mark B. - December 4, 2018

Likes: Incredibly lightweight. The Trigger Shark system is the best in the game. It makes the poles seem lighter than standard wrist straps on similar-weight poles and you feel like you get more leverage when you are cranking on them. I also found it annoying on previous poles to unwrap my wrists when coming into ultra aid stations. I know it's minor, but those little annoyances really add up and contribute to bad decision making during races, like not drinking or eating! The quick release mechanism works great. Super easy on/off from the poles.

The adjustable speed lock system is key for me because I find myself needing different height poles for ascending/descending. With previous non-adjustable poles I found myself just carrying them instead of using them because I was frustrated by the wrong pole height (especially on steep descents). Unused poles are just dead weight. These things get used!

Dislikes: Pretty expensive but man these things are awesome.

Great Trail Running Poles

Likes: Light poles, that quickly extend and/or fold up with the push of a button that makes for easy storage. I use the included storage bag (folded down) to make storage of the poles and straps easier and the tip covers (also included) for safer transport. The "Shark Bite" strap system works great. I also like the "Vario" feature that allows me to vary the length.

Dislikes: The cost is significantly more than other brands.
