If you are looking for maximum comfort and a sprawling sleeping base for your next camping trip, look no further. The Therm-a-Rest MondoKing 3D self-inflating sleeping pad is 4" thick, has a comfortable "next to skin" feel and delivers an R-value (11.4) worthy of year-round use.
Designed for campers who aren't necessarily looking for a streamlined backpacking pad and aren't concerned with packed weight, the MondoKing 3D offers extra-thick foam padding for warmth and comfort. A full 4" layer of foam serves as a comfortable sleeping base and the ultra-responsive foam core contours to your body to provide great comfort and support. The Mondo King 3D provides 20% more usable sleep surface, and the vertical sidewalls allow for virtually seamless mating to another.
The MondoKing 3D's self-inflating design allows you to simply unroll the pad and open the integrated air valve. The open-cell foam core responds by soaking up air, similar to a sponge absorbing liquid. Once the MondoKing 3D has inflated, you can achieve the full 4" thickness by adding a few puffs of air or fine-tune the density by pressing down lightly on the pad to release air.
The Therm-a-Rest MondoKing 3D is available in Large (25" x 77") and XXLarge (30" x 80") size options.

- Exceptional Comfort and Warmth
Likes: Size is awesome for a 5'8" person I have plenty of room and width to be in any position. The thickness of the pad is unmatched by anything I have rested on, don't feel any ground obstruction with the right inflation level. If looking for a car camping option I would recommend this and I am even looking at a second one to join them together for camping with significant others / having for anyone I go camping with. Cheers to an amazing and true to comfort expectations Therm-a-rest product!
Dislikes: The included carry bag is a little snug when having to repack, but just roll the air out one way and then flip and roll the pad the other way and I found I could get the bag to fit snuggly over the deflated pad then.
- Cant get more comfortable than this.
Likes: Most comfortable thing I've slept on wife got one I was so jealous I had to get one. Square on sides they pair nicely with another. R value is unheard off. What cold ground. I'm side sleeper and could jump on this this and not touch bottom 3.5 in thick. Self inflating is nice.
Dislikes: The weight. Luxury comes at a 5lb haul. Not bad in comparison.
Takes awhile to inflate. Pain to deflate. More size options could be nice.
- Awesome product!
Likes: Easy to inflate and very comfy
Dislikes: Difficult to roll up.
- I used the pad in the mountains of Wyoming right after I purchased it.
Likes: I have arthritis and this pad provides enough padding, that I don't get stiff and sore. It was much warmer than the air mattress I used to use.
- Expensive but luxurious to sleep on!!!
Likes: This is by far the best self inflating, collapsable mattress you can sleep on.
Dislikes: Due to it being 4 inches thick when inflated, it takes awhile to roll out all of the air.
- Incredibly comfortable
Likes: Better than most beds
Dislikes: It is very slow to inflate
- Camping in comfort!
Likes: It's big, it's cushy and I wouldn't go car camping without it!
- Very Comfortable, kept us off the cold ground
Likes: Easily self inflates, with a little extra breath to top it off if it's not firm enough for your liking. Bought two to make one "full size" mattress for our camping trips, stays together really well with the Thermarest straps (a product sold separately). The mattresses fit inside the Kelty Trailridge 4 with plenty of room to spare for other gear storage if needed, but not a 3rd camper, maybe a pet. Kept us warm off the ground in the Pacific Northwest on a 52 degree night. It's actually not too hard to get it to fit back in the bag if you fold it into squares first, use your body weight to push the air out as you fold, and then unfold it and roll it up, again using your body weight at the very end of rolling it to squeeze out any additional air.
Dislikes: Nothing yet.
- Unparalleled Comfort. Excellent Build Quality.
Likes: Pure Camping Comfort!@ This is a super comfy mattress. Surface can be inflated to desired feel. Extremely well made. Great materials. Feels nice on skin.
Dislikes: I found this mattress VERY difficult to roll up & stow away. Just couldn't get it back to a size that was anything close to how it was before I inflated it.
Likes: Doesn’t get cold like other mattresses and like that it inflated itself without a pump.
Dislikes: It is sort of hard to roll up to get it back into the carrying case but it can be done.
