The innovative Luxury Map self-inflating mattress utilizes pressure mapping technology and strategic die-cutting to provide supportive cushioning where it's needed most and reduce foam density in high-pressure areas.
The innovative Luxury Map self-inflating mattress utilizes pressure mapping technology and strategic die-cutting to provide supportive cushioning where it's needed most and reduce foam density in high-pressure areas. The end result is an incredibly comfortable night of sleep.
A self inflating design allows you to simply unroll the Luxury Map and open the integrated air valve, eliminating the need for an air pump. The pad's open-celled foam responds by soaking up air, similar to a sponge absorbing liquid. Once the Luxury Map has inflated, you can achieve the full 3" thickness by adding a few puffs of air or fine-tune the density by pressing down lightly on the pad to release air. A stretch-knit top wicks moisture and provides a soft sleeping surface.
The Therm-a-Rest Luxury Map mattress is available in Regular (20" x 72"), Large (25" x 77") and XLarge (30" x 77") size options. A stuff sack is included.
- Die-cutting decreases foam density in high-pressure areas to reduce sore spots, resulting in a more restful sleep
- Full-density foam in low-pressure areas provide increased support where it's needed most
- A decrease in the overall volume of foam reduces waste and makes the pad more efficient to pack and carry
- Soft, plush fabric for next-to-skin comfort
- Made in USA
- Stuff sack included

Likes: This is my second Therm-a-Rest Luxury Map. I love how warm and comfortable they make the bare ground feel. I love the width on the extra large model. We take it car camping and I've used it at home as well. Great product! Backcountry Edge also had an unbelievable deal!
Likes: This pad is super comfortable thick and warm. I own the wide variant of this pad. Coupled with my big agnes gunn creek it saved me from the early stages of hypo due to a unexpected rainstorm. Bought two of the regulars for me and wife's double wide bag. Best use would be for car camping (this is why i bought it) or short hikes as the pad is a bit heavy and is still 20in wide when rolled. Comfortable on my side and back never felt like I was bottoming out. Pad has slightly more grip than your standard inflatable but you can slide off if you toss around a lot. Due to the foam insulation it dose not feel like a pool raft even when fully inflated. Outer material is s soft and slightly absorbent
Dislikes: Only improvement I could rec. Is slightly higher edges to help keep you on the pad if not using a bag with a pad holder.
Likes: I purchased this to replace my old "luxury camp" Therm-a-Rest of 10+ years. The flannel top has been replaced by a smoother material which makes patching much easier. The cushioning has also been improved making for an even more comfortable nights rest.
I use this pad every night as my primary bed, that's how good these are. At 6'2" and about #180, and I find the size perfect for everyday use. It's bulky rolled up, so I don't use it backpacking, but if I don't have to carry it far this is the best nights sleep I can get.
As an anecdote, I did send my old pad to Therm-a-Rest for repairs, only cost was shipping, and they sent me back a brand new pad. That's customer service!
Dislikes: I compare the Therm-a-Rest Luxury Map to the Exped Downmat 9. I owned the Exped pad for about a month and took it on one backpacking trip. Although it packs down to a manageable size, once I was on the pad I didn't find it at all comfortable. I couldn't sleep well and ended up ditching the pad in the middle of the night and sleeping better on the bare ground.
I wish I could take my Therm-a-Rest everywhere! Only downside to the new "Luxury Map" is that the new top isn't as cozy as the flannel top, and if you put a blanket under you it might slip a little bit during the night, which didn't happen with the old design. Still a good tradeoff for the ability to easily patch holes!
Likes: Very comfortable
Dislikes: purple color
Likes: After speaking to an associate from Backcountry Edge, I purchased the Therm-a-Rest Luxury Map.
-Very well made, high quality materials
-Simple to use, self inflating
-Soft touch material is quiet for restless sleepers
-Comes with a sack and compression straps
-XL version is wide enough not to fall off in the middle of the night
Dislikes: -Difficult to compress pad enough to fit back in the sack
-Pad to has a felt type material on the top that gets dirty easily
Likes: The size... I move during the night to properly rest. I think Therm-a-rest has a winner!
Dislikes: The bulk & weight is a trade off for the comfort.
