The versatile Therm-a-Rest Backpacker Plus self-inflating sleeping pad is lightweight, durable, warm (R-value of 3.5) and packable enough for year-round backpacking and provides ample comfort for family or car camping.

Interior foam provides the Backpacker Plus with a supportive, comfortable 1.5" thick base. Lightweight, durable 150D textured polyester fabric protects the interior of the Backpacker Plus from wear and tear while providing a low-sleep sleeping surface.

A self-inflating design allows you to simply unroll the Backpacker Plus and open the integrated air valve. The pad's open-celled foam responds by soaking up air, similar to a sponge absorbing liquid. Once the Backpacker Plus has inflated, you can adjust the firmness by adding a few puffs of air or pressing down lightly on the pad to release air.

That little bit of extra padding

Likes: I like to be comfortable when hiking, and to me it's worth it to carry the extra half a pound to have this pad. This is thick enough to sleep even on a wooden shelter floor without waking up sore.

Dislikes: Kind of difficult to roll up tight. It took two people to roll up if I wanted to to be as small as when I bought it. Also wish it was shorter.

This Pad is LIGHTER, THICKER, and better built. I bought this pad for my daughter, she said it is too slippery. I returned it. Excellent return policy - great experience shopping at backcountryedge. Trusted Company!!!

Likes: Lightweight, easy to carry, thick enough for lying

Dislikes: too easy to slide off its slippery surface.

Likes: Very light weight. Very comfortable and good for side sleeping!

Dislikes: Not self a inflating as advertised; however, very easy to blow up.

Likes: A good intro into the 4 season pad, especially for the price.

Dislikes: Still a bit larger than I might ideally like, but it's 4 season and for the price I'm pleased with it.

Likes: Much more comfortable than sleeping on ground, and warmer too. Packs small enough, seems to be good quality.

Dislikes: Slides around under pad, kinda smells if left packed up too long.

Likes: The Therm-a-Rest Backpacker Plus is exactly what it states. Weight, size, and comfort were great and the price was excellent. Easy to setup, roll up, and strap to your backpack. Bought two, one for an adult and one for a kid, both worked very well on a long weekend hike on the Appalachian Trail in PA during late September. Definitely was impressed with the R value and texture of the pad of to keep the bag in place. Scouts can set it up, roll it up, place in the included stuff sack (yes-bigger than needed), and attach to their pack with ease.

Dislikes: Stuff sack could be more form fitting, however at least it is included.

Likes: Great pad with quality materials. Easy to roll up and strap onto a pack. Very comfortable for how thin it is.

Dislikes: It would be better if it was more compact.

Likes: Solid pad no frills

Dislikes: The weight could be a little bit lighter

Likes: Not too heavy, great price and works to keep me warm. I've used this on several back-packing over night trips where the temp. got to about 30 degrees and this seemed to keep warm the whole night. Airing it up is fast and easy.

Dislikes: The only thing I would change if I designed the mat would be more color options, a dark green would be nice.

Likes: We bought this for car camping and it is perfect. Very comfortable and only requires about 12 puffs of air to get it to the firmness I prefer. I really like it filled so it may take someone else less puffs. I wouldn't recommend it for anything but car camping because it's pretty bulky.

Dislikes: Nothing, perfect for our intended use.
