An advanced navigation compass that provides precise and reliable measurements even in areas of large magnetic variation, the mirrored Suunto MC-2 Compass is an invaluable tool for hikers, paddlers, surveyors and rescue workers.
Balanced to work in either the northern or southern hemisphere, the MC-2 Compass has a fixed declination correction scale to ensure precise measurements. An integrated sighting notch confirms the accuracy of readings. An integrated clinometer allows you to account for slope and elevation. The baseplate’s magnifying lens and anti-slip rubber pads makes the compass ideal for use with maps.
The Suunto MC-2 Compass weighs just 2.61 ounces and measures 2.6" x 4.0" x 0.7". A lanyard with a wristlock and declination adjustment key is included for carrying convenience. A detachable snap-lock allows the lanyard to be easily removed when you are using the compass with a map.

Real Customer Reviews
- Excellent service, great product
Likes: Outstanding service and delivery. Called customer service to get more info and within 3 minutes they had pulled the product and provided me that info. Delivery (free ground) was amazingly fast, 3 days from PA to AZ…wow.
I own other Suunto compasses and they are reliable and quality built. The info for this product is too general so I'll provide some specifics: This is model SS004239001. On Suunto's website it is titled "Suunto MC-2 NH USGS Mirror Compass." One side has 1:24,000 scale, the opposite side has an inch scale. Across the bottom is a km scale.
Dislikes: I'd like see Suunto improve their lanyards. Where the cord attaches to the swivel clip, there is an opened ended hook. I'm concerned that the cord would slip out of the hook causing the compass to drop to the ground or losing it all together. I'd like to see something more secure like an enclosed eyelet. No biggie since I attach my cord like in the photo above instead of using the swivel clip. I also don't use that goofy black plastic slider thing (also in the photo).
Likes: No issues so far.
Likes: I purchased this as a gift for my son. He was pleasantly surprised. He is a member of a volunteer search and rescue crew. When I presented him with this Compass, he said that several other volunteers have this compass and they think it is one of the best, therefore he had been thinking about purchasing one himself. He is very happy with it.
