Delivering maximum warmth for cold days of skiing, snowboarding, or other winter adventures, Outdoor Research Stormbound Mitts utilize a hybrid combination of down and synthetic insulations to ensure comfort even in wet conditions.
The mitts sandwich a layer of premium 800+ down insulation between layers of weather-resistant PrimaLoft Gold synthetic insulation. A waterproof/breathable Pertex Shield outer shell serves as an additional barrier against the elements. Water-resistant goat leather palms bolster durability and deliver improved grip.

Real Customer Reviews
- Fitted and warm, but NOT BLACK
Likes: I always wear size M, but after reading all the reviews I tried these in both size XL and L. The L fit the best with room for a thin 100 to 200 weight liner glove. Great fit and warm.
Dislikes: The color is definitely NOT BLACK. It is such a light grey, that it is impossible to see how they can call it black. Online the color matches exactly the OR Whitefish Black color, but the difference in reality is remarkable (I have both items to compare in person). So, it's not an effect of the computer monitor; they changed the actual color to very light grey but still call it black. The biggest problem is that the cuffs are not really 'under cuff', meaning they do not fit well under jacket cuffs. Simple stretch knit cuffs are preferred.
- Great Standalone Mitts
Likes: - Finger divisions inside the mitts
- Great Quality
- Good fit for just wearing the mitts
Dislikes: - Not much room to wear liners / gloves inside these mitts
- Best for stand-alone use
- Warmest mittens
Likes: Incredibly warm (rated at 10° F, as opposed to 20° or 30°)
Take up relatively little space in my backpack
