The award-winning Sonic 0 Degree sleeping bag is designed for cold-weather backpacking and mountaineering. Lightweight, compressible down fill and an array of innovative features makes this a great technical bag.
The Sonic 0 Degree sleeping bag is insulated with 850-fill power down. Down has a soft, comfortable feel and continues to be the insulation with the best warmth-to-weight ratio. The feathers and fibers are renowned for containing body heat and are very easily compressed allowing bag to take up less space in your backpack than many other 4-season sleeping bags. The one downfall to this insulation is that it loses much of its ability to maintain warmth when it gets wet, though the 20D nylon ripstop shell of the Sonic 0 Degree does have a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish to offer some weather protection. The footbox of the bag is further bolstered with OSMO DT waterproof/breathable fabric to protect you from frost and moisture build-up.
The Sonic 0 Degree bag features unique, adjustable Thermo Gills to vent body heat at your core without having to unzip a portion of the entire bag, which exposes you to cold drafts where you don’t want them. This temperature regulation feature allows the bag to remain comfortable in milder temperatures, making the Sonic 0 Degree more versatility than most 4-season bags. A combination of horizontal and vertical baffles helps to maximize warmth by keeping insulation from migrating which could cause dead spots or inconsistent performance. A draft collar behind the contoured, insulated hood further enhances thermal efficiency. Stretch construction at the knees is good news for side sleepers and thrashers, as the Sonic is less constricting than many mummy bags.
The NEMO Sonic 0 Degree sleeping bag is available in Regular (fits up to 6' 0") and Long (up to 6' 6") lengths. A stuff sack and a cotton storage bag are included.

Real Customer Reviews
- Very compact and warm
Likes: This is a great late fall/winter sleeping bag. For bikepacking, it compacts small and the warmth allows me to go bikepacking year round. The vents on the front are a nice added feature as the temperatures in PA tend to flux year to year. I am a side sleeper and this bag is perfect for that.
- Very lightweight for such a warm bag, concerned about the zippers
Likes: Very lightweight, excited about the gills that allow temperature regulation
Dislikes: Im 5'10 and the 6ft bag seems short to me compared to other bags I have tried. The zippers seems to really catch easily, especially on the gills.
- Sleeping Bag Perfection
Likes: -Extremely comfortable and very very cool looking
-Lots of room for shifting positions, especially for side sleepers like myself.
-Haven't used in winter yet but have been comfortable down into the high 20's Fahrenheit.
-Gill vents really work to moderate temps. they make this bag very versatile I have camped in early September in Canyonlands and Zion National parks with this bag. It was 80 degrees at night and I didn't get too ridiculously hot. Just unzip the gill and the main zipper and use it as a blanket
This bag is Everything I've come to expect from Nemo. Innovative design, state of the art materials and beautiful aesthetics.
Dislikes: None thus far. Simply a sublime bag, a pure joy to use.
- Get this bag!
Likes: Everything about this bag is awesome. Tons of features that benefit comfort, warmth, and longevity of the bag.
- First Use Impressions
Likes: I was able to use my new bag for the first time - Low temp of 43F, no wind, 80% humidity and in a tent. I like that this bag packs small, is lightweight and very comfortable for someone who tosses and turns. I like the idea of the thermal gills but I did not open them.
Dislikes: There isn't a single thing that I like about the main zipper. It snagged every 2" while trying to zip up. It unzipped fine though. Also, do not be fooled by the temp rating - the zero degree rating must only refer to your ability to survive at that temp. While I slept at 43F, there was a couple of times I woke up cold. I readjusted and corrected the (user error) and eventually opened a hand warmer to warm up. The problem is the main zipper, it was nearly impossible to zip it up all the way due to the constant snagging.
There is no hope of using this bag at the stated temp rating without a lot of other help. I believe that actual comfort rating for this bag should be closer to 20F in full cocoon mode.
I won't order another one (my wife needs a new bag), but I do not know if I will return this bag. I need to use it a few more times in order to have a better understanding of how it is going to perform.
