The innovative Sierra Designs Tensegrity 2 FL tent is a radical redesign of non-freestanding tents. A spacious interior an external gear closet optimal ventilation and a versatile trekking pole (poles not included) pitch make this tent stand out from its peers.

The Tensegrity 2 FL offers 29.3 square feet of interior space. A single gear closet that’s out of the way of the door provides an additional 10.8 square feet of sheltered space for stashing larger items like packs and boots.

The hybrid double/single wall design of the Tensegrity 2 FL reduces its trail weight to just 2 pound 2 ounces and further aids in quick set-up. A small DAC NFL aluminum pole provide structure at the foot of the tent while two trekking poles (not included) pull the front of the tent broadly to create 41” of peak height and excellent elbow room inside the tent. A unique design enables trekking poles of various sizes to serve as the structural poles a failing of many trekking pole-pitched tents that only work best with trekking poles of a specific length. When pitched the Tensegrity 2 FL has 12” protective awnings over its two uncommonly large drop doors.

Ample mesh on the tent body and the awning coverage allow the doors to remain open even in a rainstorm providing circulation to fight condensation build-up in the Tensegrity 2 FL. Coated with waterproof polyurethane the 30D nylon ripstop floor and 20D polyester ripstop rainfly are lightweight and durable. All of the Tensegrity 2 FL’s seams are tape-sealed to protect the tent interior from the elements.

The Sierra Designs Tensegrity 2 FL tent is designed for 3-season use.

Great lightweight tent
Reviewed by Mark P. - April 28, 2016

Likes: This tent is lightweight and the outward sloping walls make it feel much roomier than you'd expect. I also like the gear storage. I've taken it out for a couple of trips, and enjoyed it thus far. Note I do try not to sleep right next to creeks and marshy areas both to avoid the bugs and because I assume this tent like all single wall tents will fill with condensation in wet environments. Though all the ventilation would likely offset that to a degree.

Dislikes: I noted several small flaws in the netting. I doubt it will change the performance, but it looked like it was bunched up in a few areas.

Moisture gets in on foggy days
Reviewed by Inside Edge M. - March 3, 2016

Likes: Layout is roomy and allows for good air flow even in the rain. Lightweight for backpacking.

Dislikes: Can't close front opening on fogging days or when you are in the clouds to keep moisture out. Big flaw in design.
