Some tent designs focus on ultra-lightweight construction at the expense of creature comforts and other designs swing all the way to the other end of the spectrum. The Sierra Designs Sweet Suite 2 splits the difference, offering dual doors and ample space at minimum weight of 3 pounds, 1 ounce.
The tent provides 29.2 square feet of interior space and has an overhead peak height of 40”. Vestibules in front of the dual doors grant roughly 18 square feet (8.9 square feet per vestibule) of exterior storage space for wet or muddy shoes and gear.
Pre-bent DAC Featherlight aluminum poles increase the steepness of the exterior walls, resulting in more usable space inside the tent and a more “livable” feel when weather keeps you inside. The unique structure lends a semi-freestanding design, but stakes are included to ensure a secure, taut pitch.
Extensive mesh on the body of the tents promotes airflow and helps to prevent condensation build-up on the interior of the tent. The 30D Nylon ripstop floor and 20D nylon ripstop fly balance weight and durability. Polyurethane coatings and fully taped seams ensure weather protection. A stuff sack is included.
The optional Sweet Suite 2 footprint (sold separately) can be used to further protect the floor of the tent against ground water, roots and rocks.

Real Customer Reviews
- Stormproof but awkward
Likes: I have taken this tent out 3 times now in snow, rain and sun for overnights in Oregon in the mountains. I did a lot of research into tents and chose this for the moderate weight and roll up rain fly. I also have a 20 yr old clip flashlight 4 season tent from SD and love it.
Easy to stuff into bag.
Roll up rain fly feature is great.
So much ventilation that condensation is never an issue.
Very stable in wind and rain.
Dislikes: Asymetrical pole structure makes it hard to get a taut pitch where there is only 1 center pole.
Rainfly doesnt quite cover inner tent corners on the side with only 1 pole. although the tent body is waterproof I would like all of it to be covered by the fly.
Doors seem a little small and I have to crawl out every time. If the door was slightly bigger I could crouch and bend to get out without my hands or knees touching the ground.
