- Works great
Likes: I love this water filter. I used it on a week-long backpacking trip on the West Coast Trail in British Columbia and it performed very well. It packs well and weighs next to nothing. The spacing between both ends is just the right length to wrap duct tape around the filter. Can be back-flushed and used with a Smartwater bottle. Surprisingly affordable for how well it works.
Dislikes: Susceptible to breakage when freezing, but that is common with a lot of filters. The simple solution for that is to carry it on your person and/or stow in your sleeping bag in colder temperatures. Slight leakage out of the dirty water side when filtering - it required some tinkering with the tightness to reduce leakage (found that tighter is not always better).
- great all around filter
Likes: small, lightweight, easy to clean, easy to use, great price
Dislikes: small dirty water container, would be nice with 1.5 liter
- Works well, easy to use.
Likes: Light weight and compact
- Super small and efficient.
Likes: This filter is extremely light and compact, yet very efficient. Proper flushing keeps it going strong.
- So little
Likes: This filter is a great option to keep a lightweight load. Great for long backpacking trips.
Dislikes: Does not come with a big bladder.
- Slow Flow
Likes: Small and simple.
Dislikes: The flow is horrible. When new it is o.k. but after using it for a little and even after back-washing it is extremely painful to filter water with. You will find yourself dreaming of having a nice tall glass of water you can chug. Buy the bigger sawyer squeeze instead, it is much better.
- Great versatile product
Likes: Very versatile. Can be used like the lifestraw, inline system, attached to a bottle both regular and collapsible and used with larger collapsible or plastic bottles to filter into pots, hydration bladders etc. Flow rate isn't bad especially for the size and the amount of stuff it gets out which is more than most filters. The size and weight are awesome and the price. Can't beat it
Dislikes: Would like to see the flow rate increased but it gets junk out more than most other filters. Would also like it to fit maybe more water bottles than coke bottles.
Likes: Small and lite
Dislikes: Can really only be used easily for personal use. Hard to use for group water so everyone needs one. But if you are in high risk Giardia country, it is better to use group UV and then filter for your own drinking water.
Likes: light, small
Likes: -Really easy to use.
Dislikes: -The filter will clog up if there is sediment in the water. This causes the efficiency of the filter to drop. The good thing is, the included syringe allows you to fix this problem by backwashing the filter. I would bring this with you on trips, or just pay attention to what you're putting into the filter.
-The bag included is a little small. I replaced it with a platypus 1L bottle. Fits great.
