The S-Lab Ultra training shoe is specifically built with ultra runners in mind. It maintains a lightweight, streamlined profile but does not skimp on underfoot cushioning.
The minimalist upper utilizes seamless construction to provide a close-hugging fit, cut down on potential hot spots, and maximize breathability. Fit is assured with the lightweight QuickLace system, and a streamlined pocket in the tongue allows you tuck away any excess lacing.
Under foot, Salomon employs lightweight, flexible Profeel film in the forefoot to maximize efficiency. The internal Endofit sleeve hugs the forefoot and provides a glove-like feel. A molded Ortholite sockliner and a dual-density compressed EVA midsole deliver cushioning to cut down on the fatigue of long days of pushing hard.
With a 26mm heel and 18mm forefoot, the shoe has a moderate 8mm drop. The non-marking Premium Wet Traction Contagrip outsole delivers dynamic traction for trail performance.
Sold in pairs, the Salomon S-Lab Ultra trail running shoe is available in men's full and half sizes.

Real Customer Reviews
Likes: I've been a long time fan of Solomon gear. I've used their speedcross 3s for the past few years. I wasn't sure about upgrading to the Ultras but I took a chance and now I see why they're so well liked. I still wear my speedcrosses often but these are my new favorite. Feel very protective and hug the heel. Great on the trail but also very nice on pavement.
Dislikes: Took a while to break them in, caused my plantar fasciitis to flare up after the first few runs but it got better after some time. Wish there were other color options; red isn't my favorite.
- Amazingly secure fit
Likes: - This shoe has one of the most secure fits I've ever experienced (I've got a narrow foot and often shoes are too wide for me)
- very comfortable heel, even when walking up inclines
Dislikes: -only one color option
-not as much protection as the Salomon XA Elevate trail running shoe, and weights a little more as well
