With mid-cut support and stability and nimbleness that surpasses that of traditional boots, the waterproof Salomon Men’s X Ultra Mid 3 GTX is ideal for fast-packers, ounce-counting backpackers, or anyone looking for a lightweight, responsive trail boot.
The boot’s PU-coated leather and water-resistant synthetic upper provides a comfortable fit and strategic overlays improve durability and increase stability. A waterproof/breathable GORE-TEX bootie keeps feet dry and a gusseted tongue further ensures protection against moisture and debris. Extended padding above the heel cup delivers extra comfort and helps to keep dust and debris from sneaking into the top of the shoe.
Under foot, Salomon’s Advanced Chassis offers support and protection for hiking or lightweight backpacking. The shoe is built low to the ground for maximum stability. Injected EVA foam in the midsole maximizes comfort while a molded shank enhances stability and minimizes over pronation. A sockliner and EVA-shaped footbed further enhance comfort and fit.
A non-marking High Traction Contagrip outsole utilizes aggressive lugs to deliver enhanced traction. A rubber toe cap protects your toes from rocks and roots.
Sold in pairs, the Salomon Men’s X Ultra Mid 3 GTX hiking boot is available in widths and men's full and half sizes.

Real Customer Reviews
Likes: These boots are great. Put them to the test last weekend. Trail/ wearther conditions couldn't have been worse in the North Cascades. They are so lightweight, great traction, dry feet what else do you need?
Dislikes: Got an 11 M (that was my only choice in width) they were a little tight width wise but they broke in fine, wore them all day, the day before going backpacking.
- Perfect balance of performance, protection and low weight.
Likes: The Salomon quality you expect with some new ultralight features that make this the go to boot for backpacking. I don't want to take them off.
Dislikes: The only feature I will miss is the quick laces I have become accustomed to but that is a trade off you make for reliability.
