Boasting sturdy construction, full adjustability for optimal fit and a wide array of high-end features, the Ruff Wear Palisades Pack provides the highest performance available in dog backpacks. An innovative harness, integrated hydration bladders and an internal compression system equip the Palisades Pack for extended use and rugged conditions.
The Palisades Pack's zippered low-profile saddlebags are designed to withstand the rigors of backcountry activity, provide ample storage space and keep the load comfortably balanced. A weight-forward design makes certain that the load is ideally situated to avoid hampering your dog's natural gait and a contoured, athletic cut provides your dog with a close-fitting performance fit. Large pockets on each saddlebag soak up food, bowls, first aid supplies and other gear. Smaller zippered pockets on the top of each saddlebag are perfect for stashing treats or pick-up bags. Additional pockets on the outside of each saddlebag offer further storage space and house innovative compression straps that allow you to easily adjust and secure the load within the Palisades Pack, ensuring optimal weight distribution and maneuverability.
Eliminating the need for extraneous straps, a patented Web Master Harness provides superior fit, load-carrying stability and support. Designed to accommodate dogs of varying shapes and sizes, the Web Master Harness employs a 5-point adjustment system. Easy-release buckles make the Web Master Harness convenient to take on and off and a "sheltered" design protects the buckles from wear and tear while keeping the buckles from pressing directly against your dog's body. Fleece-lining and foam padding on the chest and belly straps further enhance comfort and fit. Reflective trim adds visibility.
Side release buckles and sturdy hardware make the Palisades Pack easy to take on and off and provide multiple adjustment points to ensure that your dog enjoys the best possible fit. The saddlebags can actually be quickly and easily disconnected entirely from the harness, making it easier to make fitting adjustments, protect the contents of the saddlebags during water crossings and allow your dog to better enjoy rest stops without ever having to remove the harness. An integrated handle on the top of the Palisades Pack allows you to easily carry the pack when your dog isn't wearing it and serves as an assistance handle when your dog needs a helping hand for on-trail obstacles. Waterproof zippers on the saddlebags ensure that the contents of the Palisades Pack remain dry and secure.
Another stand-out feature on the Palisades Pack is the inclusion of two 1.0-liter water bladders. Tucked into the saddlebags, the bladders serve as an integrated hydration system and, as an added bonus, they help to cushion your dog from the gear contained in the saddlebags and aid your dog in maintaining a cool body temperature! The bladders can be removed from the saddlebags for ease in filling and pouring water.

Real Customer Reviews
- My dog is now carrying her weight
Likes: Bought this for my 35 lb dog who until now has always allowed me to carry her food, water and bed. Now with the Palisades she is able to comfortably do it herself. The fit and finish is very nice and she seems to like it. It did take a while for her to figure out she was wider with it on but that's the only thing that took some time. Spend extra time with the fit, your dog will pay the price if you dont.
Dislikes: Cant figure out how to fit all my stuff in her packs.
- A pack every bit as good as it is presented
Likes: Easy to fit to my dog; comfortable enough that he didn't bother with it once it was on his back; he was able to move about with the pack on almost as if it wasn't there; quality construction; lots of storage space with multiple pockets; two one liter water bottles included; brightly colored with ample reflective areas for safety.
Dislikes: On our initial walk with the pack on Badger's back the pack assembly shifted forward on the harness. There is probably an adjustment that I missed to alleviate this happening and I will look further into the strap set up before our next walk with the pack.
- super sturdy, well-made, and thoughtfully designed
Likes: pack clips on to separate harness. Compression straps to keep the load streamlined.
Dislikes: I would like a front ring on the harness, as my dog still pulls pretty hard on her leash.
- Take time to correctly adjust
- Dog finally pulling his weight
Likes: *Saddlebags attach easily and without having to take the harness off
*Lots of space for food, water, treats, and bags
*Suitcase handle makes getting my pup up and over obstacles (or out of them) much easier
Dislikes: *Have to be conscious of how you load it to it doesn't slip to one side or the other
*Would prefer metal hardware
*Can be a little floppy if empty.
- My pup, Big Ben loves it.
Likes: Big Ben gives it two paws up. Easy to put on. Nice cinch straps to tighten down his pack and keep gear from moving around.
- Awesome pack!
Likes: Love the size of how big the compartments are, love the pack can be taken off and I can use just the harness for my dog which came in handy for a recent 7 foot climb in a slot canyon.
Dislikes: The cost.... but it's worth it.
- Amazing Product
Likes: Everything. The harness itself is incredible and it can be used separately from the bags. Really nice quality. The second of these packs I’ve bought and I love them both. Definitely going to be a customer of this brand from now on. Pretty durable so far.
Dislikes: I don’t really have any dislikes. I ordered a size up from what my Doberman meausured. I learned from when I bought one for my GSD that if they’re near the upper end of a medium that it was better to buy the next size up so there would be more adjustability.
- Great Pack!
Likes: plenty of storage space, water bottles included, detachable harness is awesome
Dislikes: would like a second buckle for the chest straps
- Great Backpack!
Likes: Fits well, I like the harness & pack are separate. Sizing options are really nice. I got the same size for 110lb German Shepherd and a 90lb pit mix (deep chest). Packs are very versatile and great quality.
Dislikes: None! Haven’t have them for a long time yet, but I think they’ll hold up for a long time.
