Boasting sturdy construction, full adjustability for optimal fit and a wide array of high-end features, the Ruff Wear Palisades Pack provides the highest performance available in dog backpacks. An innovative harness, integrated hydration bladders and an internal compression system equip the Palisades Pack for extended use and rugged conditions.

The Palisades Pack's zippered low-profile saddlebags are designed to withstand the rigors of backcountry activity, provide ample storage space and keep the load comfortably balanced. A weight-forward design makes certain that the load is ideally situated to avoid hampering your dog's natural gait and a contoured, athletic cut provides your dog with a close-fitting performance fit. Large pockets on each saddlebag soak up food, bowls, first aid supplies and other gear. Smaller zippered pockets on the top of each saddlebag are perfect for stashing treats or pick-up bags. Additional pockets on the outside of each saddlebag offer further storage space and house innovative compression straps that allow you to easily adjust and secure the load within the Palisades Pack, ensuring optimal weight distribution and maneuverability.

Eliminating the need for extraneous straps, a patented Web Master Harness provides superior fit, load-carrying stability and support. Designed to accommodate dogs of varying shapes and sizes, the Web Master Harness employs a 5-point adjustment system. Easy-release buckles make the Web Master Harness convenient to take on and off and a "sheltered" design protects the buckles from wear and tear while keeping the buckles from pressing directly against your dog's body. Fleece-lining and foam padding on the chest and belly straps further enhance comfort and fit. Reflective trim adds visibility.

Side release buckles and sturdy hardware make the Palisades Pack easy to take on and off and provide multiple adjustment points to ensure that your dog enjoys the best possible fit. The saddlebags can actually be quickly and easily disconnected entirely from the harness, making it easier to make fitting adjustments, protect the contents of the saddlebags during water crossings and allow your dog to better enjoy rest stops without ever having to remove the harness. An integrated handle on the top of the Palisades Pack allows you to easily carry the pack when your dog isn't wearing it and serves as an assistance handle when your dog needs a helping hand for on-trail obstacles. Waterproof zippers on the saddlebags ensure that the contents of the Palisades Pack remain dry and secure.

Another stand-out feature on the Palisades Pack is the inclusion of two 1.0-liter water bladders. Tucked into the saddlebags, the bladders serve as an integrated hydration system and, as an added bonus, they help to cushion your dog from the gear contained in the saddlebags and aid your dog in maintaining a cool body temperature! The bladders can be removed from the saddlebags for ease in filling and pouring water.

The Ruff Wear Palisades Pack is available in your choice of size options. See the provided sizing chart for measurement instructions and suggested fit. NOTE: For in-between sizes, choose the smaller pack for a lighter load and less bulk.

Expensive but sooo sweet.

Likes: My dog loves this pack so much. We live in Breckenridge and she wears it for overnight trips up to spending several weeks on the trail. Its really nice to be able to un-clip the pack and let her wear the harness just for a little added warmth. It's very lightweight, has held up against sharp branches and sticks incredibly well. So far she has jumped in a few creeks and ponds deeper than she is and the pack has remained 100% waterproof.

Dislikes: None!

Likes: Doesn't shift on the back of my dog, medium was really roomy and perfect for my 60lb heeler mix

We've gone hiking and it's tolerated a lot of rough areas as well as water, probably thinking about getting a rain cover for it because she seems to want to dive into rivers with it on!

Dislikes: I wish it had more color choices

Likes: High quality build of all Ruff Wear products.

Dislikes: lack of color options "but a minor thing"

Likes: RuffWear makes some of the most durable and well-thought out canine products I've used and this one is no exception. Harness is a great product on its own, and allows for hiking with or without the pack in case you want to give your dog a break. Also convenient that they come with water bladders so he can carry his own water now. Has lots of space and the compression straps make it so the pack isn't bouncing around on his back. Very happy with it.

Dislikes: I have a 60lb goldendoodle andit was tough getting the proper size because he has a large deep chest, but isn't as big as another dog with the same girth. The Medium would have been a perfect fit, but the main chest strap needed to be about 1.5" or 2" longer. We went with the Large/XL size, but I think if they made a size between these two offerings it would be a little better.

Likes: Very rugged and roomy. Nice adjustable harness with detachable bags and built in water packs.

Dislikes: It's expensive! But best prices were here and you always get what you pay for. It's a good value IMO - very useful if you are serious about hiking with pets.
