Ideal for everything from backpacking to climbing to around town use, the Patagonia Men’s Nano Puff Jacket delivers lightweight, packable warmth featuring a PrimaLoft synthetic insulation that excels in damp and cold conditions.
Lightweight and super compressible, the Patagonia Men’s Nano Puff Jacket is an excellent versatile option for layering during those colder days or a standalone jacket in milder temperatures. Let’s take a look at its features.
This jacket is constructed with 100 percent recycled polyester rip stop, so that creates a nice, light weight and durable abrasion resistant shell material, so nice materials on the exterior of the jacket. The insulation is 60 grams of Primaloft Gold insulation, so that is the lightest weight and most compressible insulation that Primaloft offers. A really nice aspect of that insulation is that even if it were to get a little wet, it will retain its insulation qualities. So it maintains that thermal efficiency even if you get caught in a little bit of a storm. It is super compressible so it packs down really small and it layers really well under a jacket or over some mid layers, so really nice features with the insulation and the materials in the jacket.
Some of the features we have got include a full length front zipper with a storm flap on the back side, so you have got some nice draft protection from that storm flap. It comes up to a nice zipper garage at the top, so it lays nicely against the skin. It doesn’t cause any abrasion or chafing up there.
We do have two zippered hand warmer pockets down low, so you have got two nice sizable pockets here. You can store some items in there or just keep your hands warm if you are not wearing gloves. We do have a pocket on the inside of the jacket as well, so on the inside on the left we have got a nice, sizable pocket. You can store some items there if you want to keep them closer to the body, a little more protected. But this pocket also doubles as a stuff sack, so you can reverse the jacket on itself and create a nice small pack size, attach it to a harness if you need to carry it up to the next belay or if you just want to travel and you want to stow this away. This will create a nice compact size for that. So nice benefit to having that internal pocket.
Some features that enhance the fit, we have got an elastic cuff around each arm so that will seal out any cold air and keep the nice warm air in. Also doesn’t restrict your movement, so it is not super tight, really nice fit there. And on the right side of the jacket at the hem we have got a nice draw cord so you can cinch that hem down and prevent the jacket from riding up on you if you are hiking or if you are climbing and you want that jacket to stay in place. So nice benefits to the fit there.
The fit of this jacket is regular. I am wearing a medium here. I normally do wear a medium with Patagonia’s gear. It is a fairly trim fit I am feeling. I have got enough room to layer maybe a mid weight base layer underneath and can easily layer a shell over top. So good room on the underside, good room on the outside, nice compressible insulation here.
And there you have it. It is the Patagonia Men’s Nano Puff Jacket, a lightweight and warm insulating piece, good for layering during any adventure.
