Offering fully-featured 3-season protection, the durable, lightweight Outdoor Research Men's Foray Jacket keeps out wet weather and offers maximum breathability. Fully-taped, GORE-TEX Paclite fabric takes the wear-and-tear of the trail while lightweight yet durable construction make this jacket a good option for year round, foul weather protection.

Outdoor Research's innovative TorsoFlo side zips provide superior ventilation. Two-way zippers run from the bicep to the hem of the jacket and allow built-up heat to escape. This feature allows for poncho-style ventilation when your backpack's waistbelt passes underneath the jacket so that you maintain maneuverability without jeopardizing the jacket's waterproof protection or your own comfort.

Other features of the Men's Foray Jacket include a dual-pull adjustable hood, a storm flap over the front zipper, a zippered external chest pocket and two zippered hand pockets. The left hand pocket doubles as a stuff sack. The standard fit of this jacket leaves room for lightweight insulation layers in cold weather or simple base layers in warmer temperatures.

The Outdoor Research Men's Foray Jacket is available in a variety of size and color options.

Quality Lighter Weight Jacket

Likes: This is a well made jacket. Fit true to size. I'm 6 ft, 195 lbs and a Large is fine.

Dislikes: none

Hands down, best rain jacket I've owned!
Reviewed by Anthony D. - April 12, 2018

Likes: The fit is great, athletic, yet room underneath to layer without it being snug. I'm 5'9", 185 and the Large is perfect. Seams are well sealed, zippers keep the water out, and I love the pit zips which go all the way down to the waist, maybe the best feature on the jacket other than being a water repelling monster. Also like the built in visor with infinitely adjustable positions.

Dislikes: None really, this is one where I don't mind paying for something that really works well!

Excellent jacket for all-round use
Reviewed by Paul P. - March 16, 2018

Likes: I use this jacket as a daily bike commuter jacket and it works great for that. I've found that with other jackets (even with pit zips) don't do such a good job of ventilation, but this jacket really excels in that area. I haven't had the jacket for that long and have only been in steady rain a couple of times, but it has performed admirably until now.

It is noticeably heavier than ultralight rain jackets (i.e. OR Helium II), but it packs down small enough that I wouldn't hesitate to take it hiking or backpacking if precipitation in the forecast was likely. Plus it looks great.

Dislikes: Nothing not to like.

Great jacket, keeps me 100% dry. Well worth the money. OR makes great products!

Solid Jacket
Reviewed by Steve C. - October 28, 2017

Likes: The jacket is lightweight, packs up small, breathes well and repels water easily. Unlike some jackets with just DWR treatment, water beads off this thing like it might as well be PVC. It doesn't soak in like some DWR jackets which reduces weight slightly. The armpit to waist zips drastically reduce sweat and works AWESOME if you go backpacking. You're able to hide your belt strap under the jacket which is helpful if you store things like your phone or other things in your hip belt pouches to protect them from exposure. The chest zips also double as more ventilation in addition to storage pockets. When combined with the side zips, it breathes like a poncho as advertised.

The hood has great tension control and customization for the right fit. I've worn this in 40+ mph winds with just a t-shirt underneath and when fully zipped maintains body heat and keeps wind out very well. If you're planning on layering this with a down jacket, just buy one size up. For me I have 42in R chest and bought a Large. I'm able to fit a Large size down jacket underneath without an issue.

It should also be mentioned that the back of the jacket extends down further than most jackets. This works awesome to keep repelled water from dripping on your pants and rather sends it to the ground.

Dislikes: The taped zippers can be a little stiff and hard to zip up and down.

Good, solid jacket so far
Reviewed by Ed K. - April 4, 2017

Likes: Just got this last week for an upcoming 12 day backpacking trip. Tried it out in 36 degree weather and rain. Kept me dry through the 4 miles I did in the woods. Good fit with room for layers if you need them.

Dislikes: Jacket is a little stiff which I am hoping relaxes once I wear it more. Will take a few tries to regulate my body temp using the pit zips. Waited too long to open them and got a little overheated.

Great heavy duty jacket
Reviewed by Bobby B. - October 31, 2016

Likes: Could be a 4 season shell in certain areas. Gore Tex is SOLID! Neat venting options. Love the color!

Dislikes: A little bit heavy

Great jacket. I had an opportunity to test it out the past few days and am very pleased. Very lightweight, comfortable, and a great fit. I'm 6'2 and weigh about 200lbs and the Large perfect with some room to add layers.

Likes: Zippered side openings for when wearing a backpack, great ventilation, quality material.

Dislikes: Made in China.
