Offering fully-featured 3-season protection, the durable, lightweight Outdoor Research Men's Foray Jacket keeps out wet weather and offers maximum breathability. Fully-taped, GORE-TEX Paclite fabric takes the wear-and-tear of the trail while lightweight yet durable construction make this jacket a good option for year round, foul weather protection.
Outdoor Research's innovative TorsoFlo side zips provide superior ventilation. Two-way zippers run from the bicep to the hem of the jacket and allow built-up heat to escape. This feature allows for poncho-style ventilation when your backpack's waistbelt passes underneath the jacket so that you maintain maneuverability without jeopardizing the jacket's waterproof protection or your own comfort.
Other features of the Men's Foray Jacket include a dual-pull adjustable hood, a storm flap over the front zipper, a zippered external chest pocket and two zippered hand pockets. The left hand pocket doubles as a stuff sack. The standard fit of this jacket leaves room for lightweight insulation layers in cold weather or simple base layers in warmer temperatures.
The Outdoor Research Men's Foray Jacket is available in a variety of size and color options.

- Fantastic Rain Jacket
Likes: I bought this jacket and immediately took it on a 10 day trip in super remote Alaska backcountry. We had really bad weather - six days straight of rain and wind, and cloudy/wet every other day. This jacket performed better than any rain jacket I've ever had. It sheds water very well and the zippers offer great breathability (this was the primary reason I purchased this jacket). It kept me warm and about as dry as it could in such conditions.
Dislikes: I can only think of two drawbacks of this jacket, but I would buy it again for sure . First of all, the zippers are hard to use while wearing a pack. We weren't stopping much at all and needing to adjust the side zippers on the fly was pretty tough.
Secondly, the weight is a little more than many comparable jackets. The medium comes in at 14.7 oz on my scale. Peace of mind in pouring, cold Alaska rain is much more important to me than saving 5 oz though.
- Great jacket
Likes: Looks good, fits great, and the side vents are awesome.
Dislikes: None yet.
- Feels Good, Fits Large
Likes: The jacket feels firm. The shell is fine, but dense. The waterproofing is visible and tangible.
Dislikes: The size is not athletic or a 'true' small for skinny, small-chested people. It can fit a puffy down vest or jacket underneath.
- Great rain coat!
Likes: Quality of the product is excellent. Kept me dry underneath in a rain shower.
- great rain jacket
Likes: lightweight, flexible features, great for rain
used it on the mist trail at vernal falls last week
plan to take it to europe for my hiking trip in the fall
- Quality Lighter Weight Jacket
Likes: This is a well made jacket. Fit true to size. I'm 6 ft, 195 lbs and a Large is fine.
- Hands down, best rain jacket I've owned!
Likes: The fit is great, athletic, yet room underneath to layer without it being snug. I'm 5'9", 185 and the Large is perfect. Seams are well sealed, zippers keep the water out, and I love the pit zips which go all the way down to the waist, maybe the best feature on the jacket other than being a water repelling monster. Also like the built in visor with infinitely adjustable positions.
Dislikes: None really, this is one where I don't mind paying for something that really works well!
- Excellent jacket for all-round use
Likes: I use this jacket as a daily bike commuter jacket and it works great for that. I've found that with other jackets (even with pit zips) don't do such a good job of ventilation, but this jacket really excels in that area. I haven't had the jacket for that long and have only been in steady rain a couple of times, but it has performed admirably until now.
It is noticeably heavier than ultralight rain jackets (i.e. OR Helium II), but it packs down small enough that I wouldn't hesitate to take it hiking or backpacking if precipitation in the forecast was likely. Plus it looks great.
Dislikes: Nothing not to like.
- Great jacket, keeps me 100% dry. Well worth the money. OR makes great products!
Likes: Very breathable. Packable. Lightweight.
- Did not fit well
Likes: Material was excellent.
Dislikes: Fit is for more of a slim fit.
