Looking for a lightweight, comfortable "do everything" soft shell? The Outdoor Research Men’s Ferrosi Hooded Jacket is so comfortable and functional, you're going to want to wear it on every hike, climb, and paddling trip you take and the abrasion-resistant fabric ensures a long life of adventure.
The jacket’s combination of fabrics offers freedom of movement, durability, and breathability. Cordura and spandex are used throughout the shoulders and arms while ripstop nylon with spandex in the body and hood create maximum breathability and promote movement. This hybrid construction makes the jacket wind-resistant, water-resistant, and highly breathable. An attached, adjustable hood extends coverage and can be cinched down to fit around the face in breezy conditions. A drawcord hem and elastic cuffs with thumb loops enhance fit and help to seal out cold air.
Other features include UPF 50+ sun protection, a key clip, a carabiner loop, a small zippered chest pocket, and two zippered hand pockets. The left pocket even doubles as a stuff sack for the jacket.
Available in your choice of color and size options, the Outdoor Research Men’s Ferrosi Hooded Jacket has a standard fit that allows you to wear low-profile baselayers or midlayers beneath it or pull a heavier hardshell or insulated jacket on over top of it.

Real Customer Reviews
- Perfect light weight hoody
Likes: Form fitting, I'm 5'10, 174lbs, medium fit's perfectly. I can wear a base layer under and I'm comfortable to about 60 degrees, then I'll add a light vest under and I'm good down another 10 degrees. It breathes and also provides some wind protection. I haven't been in wet weather yet. It also packs down really small. It hasn't been cold enough to layer it under a shell, but I'm sure it would work great. Chest pocket fits my Samsung Galaxy 7 with room to spare.
Dislikes: None, it's exactly what I was looking for.
- Great mobility / Dries Quickly / Breathes Well
Likes: -Mobility: this jacket moves with you and you forget your wearing it
-Versatility: Used as a layering system
-Stuffs into its own pocket
-Beads water (will not do this in sustained rain but dries quickly)
Dislikes: Due to the breathability it does not block wind well, recommend a wind breaker for this if the winds really pick up.
