Outdoor Research Equinox Shorts are perfect for hiking and backpacking in hot and humid climates. Lightweight, quick-drying and delivering UPF 50 sun protection, Equinox Shorts are ideal for day hikes or extended trips. Supplex nylon fabric provides comfort and a water-resistant finish increases durability.
A 10" inseam and a gusseted crotch mean you'll have a greater freedom of movement when hiking up steep trails or climbing over rocks and logs. An integrated, adjustable belt allows a more custom fit and the belt can be easily removed or replaced with one of your own.
With 6 total pockets Equinox Shorts have plenty of well designed places to carry a multi-tool, GPS unit, map, compass or other essentials. Two rear pockets and two thigh pockets with concealed zippers are placed at angles that make it easy to get to contents even while wearing a backpack or lumbar pack.

Likes: Super comfortable and awesome color! I especially love the built in belt as it keeps my shorts up in simple fashion. Zipper pocket is extra nice too for protecting valuables when wearing shorts.
Likes: I really like these shorts. They dry fast and are light. The pockets are a bit strange at first, but you start to like them. There is no way you are going to get pick pocketed from the side mounted zipper rear pockets, not that the deer are going to try anyhow.
Dislikes: The belt is sewn on and has a tenancy to loosen as you walk. For me the shorts fit just right so I really don't need the belt anyway, but it is kind of annoying when every mile or so you have to adjust the belt.
