Waterproof, breathable and made from Insect Shield fabric, Outdoor Research BugOut Gaiters provide low-profile leg protection and repel biting insects.
Constructed of waterproof, breathable fabric and odorless, EPA-registered Insect Shield fabric, Outdoor Research BugOut Gaiters protect the footwear of hikers and backpackers from debris while repelling mosquitoes, ticks, ants, flies, chiggers and other insects.
Elastic bottom and top edges work in tandem with a hook/loop front closure and boot lace hook to keep the BugOut Gaiters securely in place. A Hypalon instep strap provides further stability. A hook/loop shear tab prevents separation at the front, lower portion of the gaiters. The low cut design allows BugOut Gaiters to be worn with hiking boots or trail-running shoes.
Sold in pairs, Outdoor Research BugOut Gaiters are available in S (US men's boot size 4-7), M (6-9), L (8-11) and XL (10-13) sizes.

Likes: I bought these specifically because they are a low gaiter. I am cursed with muscular calves which make tall boots (and gaiters) impossible to wear. The Velcro on these is strong which really keeps things zipped up too.
Dislikes: It doesn't appear that the Hypalon strap is replaceable. They do seem to be pretty tough, but should they wear out it would be nice to be able to replace them. Not a major drawback, as long as Outdoor Research continues to make a short gaiter for us "fat leggers".
Likes: Bug out gaiters were not what I expected. I thought they would go up higher and be stiffer. I ended up returning them.
