Providing customized fit, heavy load-hauling capability and convenient access features, Osprey Xenith internal frame backpackers are ideal companions for extended backpacking trips.
DetailsProviding customized fit and heavy load-hauling capability, the Osprey Xenith 88 is an ideal companion for multi-day and extended backpacking trips. Convenient access points, innovative features and 5300+ cubic inches of storage capacity result in a pack built for the backcountry.Constantly striving to enhance comfort and performance, Osprey has equipped the Xenith 88 with a ground-breaking suspension system. A peripheral LightWire HD aluminum frame works in tandem with a single aluminum support stay to transfer weight to your hips and maximize strength and stability. A mesh/foam backpanel and dual density foam harness enhance carrying comfort and help to reduce heat build-up between your back and the pack itself. Further ensuring a proper fit, the revolutionary BioForm CM hipbelt utilizes an ErgoPull closure that draws tension along the top and the bottom of the belt with split support wings. A sliding sternum strap and load-lifter straps allow you to fine-tune fit with on-the-go adjustments. Each of three available sizes of the Xenith 88 offers torso adjustability. The Medium accommodates torso lengths ranging from 18"-20.5", the Large accommodates torso lengths ranging from 20"-22.5" and the XLarge is designed for torso lengths that exceed 22".To guarantee that the Xenith 88 fits like a glove, Osprey offers swappable BioForm CM hipbelts and shoulder harnesses. The S hipbelt fits waists ranging from 27"-31", the M hipbelt fits waists ranging from 30"-34", the L hipbelt fits waists ranging from 33"-37" and the XL hipbelt is designed for waists larger than 36". For most backpackers, the shoulder harness size should match the pack size, but for those with wider or narrower shoulders, additional sizes are available. The Xenith 88's BioForm CM harness is available in four sizes. Each size of the harness provides a vertical adjustability of 2"-3". NOTE: For most backpackers, the shoulder harness size should match the selected pack size, but for those with wider or narrower shoulders, choose one size up or down for the best fit.The huge main packbag of the Xenith 88 is designed to comfortably carry 50-70 pounds of gear! The packbag has full top access, but can also be reached via a zippered vertical access point on either side of the pack. A lower sleeping bag compartment has a wide zippered mouth for easy packing and unpacking. Twin vertical storage pockets on the face of the pack have weather-resistant zippers and aid in the organization of gear. A large front pocket utilizes welded stretch woven fabric to serve as a convenient storage spot for layers of clothing or other gear. Stretch woven side pockets are ideal for stashing water bottles, tent poles or other gear. Integrated hipbelt pockets provide a spot to keep essentials close at hand. Multiple compression straps enable you cinch down your pack to keep contents safely and securely in place. These same straps also serve as lash points for additional gear.Other features found on the Xenith 88 include integrated trekking pole loops and a top lid that is removable for use as a lumbar pack. Removable straps located in front of the sleeping bag compartment securely stow sleeping pads. An external sleeve tucked behind the backpanel makes the Xenith 88 hydration system (sold separately) compatible without eating into any internal capacity. The Osprey Xenith 88 is available in your choice of size and color options.

Likes: I have always been a firm believer of the large external frame backpacks such as the Kelty Tioga . Those beliefs have now been shattered . The Osprey Xenith is by far the most comfortable pack I've ever owned and has superior load distribution , driving the weight to my hips , and the harness straps feel more like pillows , and don't dig in
Dislikes: For the price , I really wish it came with a rain cover for the pack
