Built for fast-moving day hikes and summit assaults the Osprey Stratos 24 pack combines carrying comfort ventilation and organizational features to deliver lightweight technical performance.
Employing Osprey's Airspeed Suspension the pack’s tensioned mesh back panel provides flexible support and breathability to combat heat build-up between your back and the pack body. Both the hipbelt and harness straps are padded with die-cut foam and covered in mesh to enhance comfort and optimize fit. Adjustability in the harness load-lifter straps and sternum strap enhance fit.
The 1465 cubic inch capacity packbag can be reached via either of two zippered access points. There are additional zippered pockets on the front and the top of the pack that provide organizational options. Zippered hipbelt pockets keep small gear and trail essentials close at hand.
Other features include a single Stow-on-the-Go trekking pole attachment on the shoulder strap a single ice axe attachment with a stowable bungee tie-off and an integrated rain cover. A lined internal sleeve and drinking tube pass-throughs make the pack hydration compatible (hydration system sold separately).

Real Customer Reviews
- Great daypack
Likes: I have a grade 3 separated shoulder so I’m very mindful when selecting a backpack to purchase. I own the Osprey Atmos 65L pack and this has the same suspension so I knew it would not irritate my shoulder. I recently took it on a half day trip with zero discomfort. Plenty of storage and my back wasn’t covered in sweat because of the suspension system. Osprey makes the best backpacks and they are covered by the best warranty. I highly recommend any Osprey product.
- Great Day Pack
Likes: Usual Osprey quality. Good fit. Durable materials. Great size pack for a day on the trails. Holds all of the essentials
Dislikes: Other than the low hanging, interior top mesh pocket, this is a nice, comfortable pack
- Great pack! But it depends on what you use it for...
Likes: Very comfortable when it is weighted down inside, loaded with features, very easy-to-use hip belt, and appears to be very durable.
Dislikes: This pack seems to be designed for two things: carrying more weight than your average daypack and doing it for a long time. With hardly any weight in it, the back panel rubs against your back as you walk. Inserting the hydration reservoir is pretty obnoxious, especially with the mesh pocket for sun glasses or other small items being located right in front of it, but I found it is best to put that in first before anything else is in the pack. One of the water bottle pockets has the strap to synch it down going through the inside of it, which seems to be so that you can synch down the pack without decreasing the size of the pocket, but this strap is hard to synch down. I’m on the fence with the practicality of the vertical zipper on the front.
- Great pack for day hikes
Likes: Great size for day hikes. I bought the Osprey 3 liter hydration reservoir and it fits nicely and leaves a good amount of room for other things in the pack. Very comfortable as well.
Dislikes: Sometimes squeaks a little, can fix by adjusting load.
- Excellent DayPack for the day hiker looking to bring light gear and food on a trek
-Difficult to install hydration pack
- Very comfortable daypack
Likes: Super comfortable day pack. Compared to my Talon 22, I do not feel the weight as much when I'm carrying 20lbs despite the extra weight of the pack.
Dislikes: Not a lot of good latching options to hang things onto the pack when needed.
- Great Daypack
Likes: The airspeed frame just hugs your back and almost zero weight
Dislikes: Wish there are more small bags for storing electronics, first aid, snacks, sunglasses.
- Excellent Quality
Likes: Osprey makes great packs, I have several and will continue to buy them. This pack is no different - high quality materials, it's going to be durable and last a while. Main compartment is as expected. I like the front pocket with vertical zipper. The pack carries extremely well, and the airflow is as advertised. Did not have a sweaty back at all - even on a 17 mile hike into the Grand Canyon. Trekking pole holder also works well.
Dislikes: The only thing I don't like - and I saw this in a couple reviews before I bought it - the top pocket just doesn't work very well. It's mesh, and too large, so it hangs awkwardly into the main compartment. It makes it somewhat difficult to pull out your bladder if you need to refill. I'd prefer this to be a smaller, solid fabric pocket, just big enough fora couple small things - keys, a headlamp, etc.
Honestly, a relatively minor inconvenience. Ability to carry weight well, comfort, and a durable, high quality build are much more important to me, so still gave it 5 stars.
- awesome day pack
Likes: This day pack is great! I use it for a day around a city trip or a day on the trail. Enough space for extra clothes and layers, and things you pick up on a day outing in the urban jungles of the world. I love that it comes with a rain cover for those unexpected downpours. The bag is extremely comfortable to wear, and the mesh backing keeps my back cooler in the warmer temps. The hip belt pockets are great for keeping my snacks or little things that I want to keep handy without filling my pant pockets.
Dislikes: It may be a bit small if you like to pack a lot of gear for a day hike.
- Great Quality
Likes: Nice pack for short day hikes!
Dislikes: Due to the size, I needed a little larger one.
