The Osprey Sojourn 45 wheeled convertible travel pack has integrated wheels, a retractable handle, its very own hide-away suspension system, and 2746 cubic inches of storage capacity. The carry-on approved pack is ideal for overnight stays.
Rugged polyurethane wheels with sealed bearings and a sturdy 6001 aluminum frame ready the Sojourn 45 for the rigors of life on the road. A molded base protects the portion of the packbag in front of the wheels from scrapes and scuffs. The design of the base offers high clearance which also cuts down on wear and tear. Hidden behind a zippered panel is a full suspension system with a ventilated backpanel, padded shoulder straps, a padded hipbelt, load-lifter straps, and an adjustable sternum strap. When not in use, the entire system can be tucked safely back inside the security panel. The retractable handle and multiple integrated grab handles make it easy to transport the Sojourn 45 and retrieve it from luggage carousels. A built-in "foot" enables the pack to stand upright and doubles as an additional handle.
Protected by foam-walled side panels, the main packbag is accessed through a durable, full-length wrap-around zipper. Four zippered pockets on the inside of the pack provide storage and organizational options. Internal compression straps help to safely secure contents and heavy-duty external compression straps lend their assistance. Dual front panel daisy chains enable you to lash gear externally.
Measuring 22" x 14" x 9” and available in your choice of color options, the Osprey Sojourn 45 carry-on pack is the maximum legal domestic carry-on size.

Likes: I really like this bag. It makes traveling very easy.
If you will be stuck in line waiting at airports leave it in wheelie mode. If you've got to rush or walk a distance the backpack mode is very very comfortable.
I like that the straps disconnect. If I really need extra storage, it can go in there.
It's soft enough to fit overhead and every size check I've had on air travel, but made of a crazy tough fabric.
Wheels are great, suspension rolls around with no issue.
People get weird about the wheels near your hips, but I don't ever have a problem with it. It usually doesn't touch.
Expensive but this thing is awesome
Dislikes: The daylite junction is great but the d rings recommended option for joining is terrible. You're supposed to insert the strap buckles into a hard plastic d ring. This works if you've 5 mins each time you need to connect or disconnect.
You can use the compression straps on the top of your backpack through the top d rings and cinch it with the sojourn compression straps overtop the backpack. Way faster
- perfect carry-on travel backpack for places where wheels will be useful
Likes: well crafted, sturdy materials
kickstand (with built in handle/grip, nice touch): stands solidly upright, ready to be wheeled.
quality suspension, not an afterthought, for when you just gotta get it off the ground for a while
padded compression straight jacket keeps main compartment open for loading/packing
Dislikes: so nice it might attract unwanted baggage handler attention.... will be zipping it up inside a large tote (when checking, vs carryon days)
another not real dislike: just about too small for an extended winter visit or some extra "gear" along with regular travel needs, that takes you over the carry-on restrictions ... so I also bought the 60L version, and will suffer accordingly those days.
- Versatile Carry-On Bag
Likes: You can fit A LOT in this bag. It's comfortable to wear as a backpack (I'm 5'8, medium frame) and converts easily into wheeled luggage. The wheels took a beating on European cobble-stone streets but still work nicely.
Dislikes: The only thing it is missing is a laptop sleeve.
