Ideal for mountain biking or fast-and-light day hiking, the sleek Osprey Raptor 10 hydration pack combines the carrying comfort, storage capacity (610 cu in), and organizational features needed for technical performance.
Unlike traditional hydration bladders, the Raptor 10's 3-Liter reservoir’s construction minimizes "barreling" by maintaining a more anatomical shape. Nestled within its own dedicated, externally-accessed compartment, the reservoir is locked securely in place, reducing the sloshing effect that many hydration pack users have come to accept as a necessary evil. The reservoir’s wide mouth is easily accessed through a patented, leakproof sliding closure that further adds speed and efficiency to refills that kids can even do themselves. An integrated PourShield makes the reservoir easy to fill and empty. An anti-microbial treatment prevents mold and bacteria from building up inside the reservoir.
Hydration packs are also notorious for falling short on fit and comfort, but this is not the case with the Raptor 10. A molded foam backpanel provides a contoured, comfortable fit and a ventilated design promotes airflow and reduces heat build-up between the pack and your body. The padded BioStretch harness and hipbelt offer a secure fit that mirrors your movements during aerobic activities. An adjustable and elastic sternum strap further ensures a stable fit and its magnetic hose attachment strategically secures the hydration system's bite valve. Side compression straps allow you to cinch down the packbag to keep contents safely in place and aid in load control.
The Raptor 10 has a storage capacity of 610 cubic inches. A zippered, lined top pocket is perfect for sunglasses or other valuables and a stretch mesh front pocket allows quick access to extra layers or other gear. A zippered lower compartment is dedicated to storing a removable, roll-up tool pouch (included). Zippered pockets on the hipbelt offer quick-and-easy access to energy gels, valuables and other small items. Light attachment points and reflective graphics add a measure of safety and an integrated LidLock clip securely stows a helmet without reducing storage capacity.

- Great bag!
Likes: I’ve used this bag almost everyday for 6months and I’ve had zero wear issues. I use it weekdays to bike commute to work and on the weekends to hit the mtb trail. I like the fit and how it rides even on fast rocky descents. For commuting, there’s plenty of room most days for a small breakfast, lunch, and 12oz coffee mug. On the trail, the 3L hydration is perfect plus room for food. The bottom gear pouch has room for multi tool, tubes, patches, and co2. The top pocket is perfect for keys, wallet, and phone. I like the taillight loop too when commuting. This would be a perfect bag for a fast hike too, although I haven’t done any hiking yet this year.
Dislikes: After months of use, the zippers do seem to hang up a bit, but I probably need to clean and lube them. The helmet hook doesn’t do anything for me, but it is a good spot to hook the hydration bite valve to keep it clean on the way to the trail. When commuting to work on cooler days, there is not enough room for extra layers. In this case the 14L bag would help.
