Ideal for long backcountry day hikes, the Osprey Manta 36 hydration pack provides ample storage (2075+ cubic inches), boasts excellent organizational and carry features and houses an integrated 3-Liter hydration system. No longer do you need to settle for an ill-fitting pack in order to stay hydrated.
Unlike traditional hydration bladders, the Osprey Hydraulics reservoir has its own direct-welded "backpanel" that minimizes "barreling" by maintaining a more anatomical shape. Nestled within its own dedicated, externally-accessed compartment, the reservoir is locked securely in place, reducing the sloshing effect that many hydration pack users have come to accept as a necessary evil. An anti-microbial treatment prevents mold and bacteria from building up inside the reservoir.
The Manta 36's LightWire peripheral frame combines with a molded foam backpanel to provide load-carrying strength, stability and comfort. Built-in ventilation promotes airflow and reduces heat build-up between the pack and your body. The padded BioStretch harness and hipbelt offer a secure fit that mirrors your movements during aerobic activities. Drawing tension along the top and bottom of the hipbelt, the ErgoPull closure allows convenient on-the-go adjustment. An adjustable and elastic sternum strap further ensures a stable fit and its magnetic hose attachment strategically secures the hydration system's bite valve. The Small/Medium Manta 36 fits torso lengths ranging from 16"-19" and the Medium/Large size fits torsos ranging from 18"-21" in length. Side compression straps allow you to cinch down the packbag to keep contents safely in place and aid in load control.
The storage capacity of the Small/Medium Manta 36 is 2075 cubic inches and the Medium/Large is 2197 cubic inches. In addition to the large main compartment, a sizable, zippered front pocket allows you to organize gear and a stretch woven front "shove-it" pocket allows you to keep extra layers close at hand. Zippered pockets on the hipbelt offer quick-and-easy access to energy gels, valuables and other small items. Other features found on the Manta 36 include a lined, zippered sunglasses pocket, a safety light attachment point and an integrated rain cover to protect the pack in inclement weather.

Real Customer Reviews
- Very nice pack tons of storage and ways to organize your gear. Really comfortable good quality. Even for over night if you're not trying to bring your whole house
Likes: Storage, organization capabilities, quality, separate hydration sleeve, the hydration bladder itself, all the different pockets like hip belt and two stuff pockets with one having quality mesh neoprene like material not the cheap kind, the frame and ventilation system are also great. Just a good pack with lots of pockets everywhere for people like me who like to have plenty of pockets and the water bottle pockets actually hold a variety of bottles not just small ones.
Dislikes: The hip belt strap is a on the thin side for me. Wider is more comfortable especially when you're cinching it down. The hip belt pockets are plenty big for snack bars and all that but I'd like em to be a touch larger because I have a galaxy note 4 which is a pretty large phone and if they were positioned more foward like the grgeory miwok 18 for easier access but still easy enough and useful.
