Ideal for day hikes or ultra-lightweight overnighters, the Osprey Kyte 36 Women’s backpack balances weight, storage capacity (2000+ cubic inches), features, price and performance. A lightweight, supportive suspension enables the pack to comfortably carry loads of up to 40 pounds!
Committed to providing all outdoor enthusiasts with optimal performance, Osprey equips its women's packs with gender-specific design features. Harnesses are cut wider through the collar bone area and have an ergonomic taper in the chest area. Offering a women's specific cant and a narrower cut, the hipbelts found on Osprey's women's packs also cater to female users.
Employing ridge molded foam and built-in air channels, the pack’s AirScape backpanel provides flexible support and breathability to combat heat build-up between your back and the pack body. A lightweight aluminum peripheral frame and a foam framesheet effectively distribute weight and deliver supportive stability. The Xsmall/Small Kyte 36 Women’s pack is designed to fit torso lengths ranging from 13"-17" and the Small/Medium size fits 16”-20” torsos. The padded, contoured hipbelt, and padded shoulder straps aid in stability and load transfer. An adjustable sternum strap and load-lifter straps further enhance fit. Side compression straps cinch down to keep the contents of the pack safely in.
The top-loading 2000+ cubic-inch capacity packbag is accessed beneath a fixed top lid that incorporates zippered compartments for gear storage. A vertical zipper on the face of the pack also grants access to the interior of the packbag without having to remove the lid. A zippered lower compartment is ideal for a sleeping bag or other gear. A divider between the main packbag and the sleeping bag compartment can be pulled aside to convert the Kyte 36 Women’s pack to a single large compartment. A stretch woven pocket on the front of the pack keeps layers close at hand.
Other features include Stow-on-the-Go trekking pole attachments, tuck-away ice axe loops, daisy chain attachment points, an included raincover, a safety whistle built into the sternum strap, zippered hibpelt pockets, and stretch side water bottle pockets. An external sleeve is ideal for a hydration system (not included).

Real Customer Reviews
- Love it, but would make 1 change
Likes: Love that the pack is large enough to be versatile between hiking and traveling. It's very comfortable and the zipper on the side makes it very convenient to grab items out of the pack quickly. The mesh stuff sack and the daisy chains are a plus for me as well.
Dislikes: The pack sits too close to my back so there's no room for ventilation. Would prefer a trampoline style backing on this particular pack.
- i love this pack
Likes: Being a 5' tall thin female, I struggled to find a day pack that fit my waist and torso right. Most brands dont offer anything smaller than a small, which just wouldnt cinch tight enough on my waist to transfer the weight of the pack to my hips. Despite being small, i suppose I am 'long waisted' for my height, so the adjustable torso on this pack was absolutely essential to getting the perfect fit. The pack has awesome features such as the ability to store your water reservoir outside the pack, the bottom and side access zippers are very handy. Ospreys are built to last too, strongly recommend this pack!
- Comfortable and worth every penny!
Likes: Fit to my small frame, breathable, good size, lots of adjusting straps, fit my water bladder, good pocket placement
Dislikes: Hip pockets are a little awkward in size, hard to figure out top closing clasp at first
Likes: Perfect back system, great size, lite, lot of space for a small size.
- Awesome Pack
Likes: Fits perfect. Great size to fit a fair amount but can cinch down for running. Love the pockets on the side. Love the back support and how it feels on.
