Catering to adventurers who are looking for value-packed versatility, the Osprey Farpoint 40 offers travel-friendly features in a trek-worthy backpack. The Farpoint 40 delivers load-carrying capability and ample storage capacity (2300+ cubic inches) in a carry-on approved size.
Constantly striving to enhance comfort and performance, Osprey has equipped the Farpoint 40 pack with a fully-featured suspension system. In expectation of comfortably carrying loads of up to 40 pounds, the Farpoint 40 employs a LightWire frame and a spacer mesh backpanel to grant strength, stability and load transfer. Further enhancing fit, the padded hipbelt utilizes an ErgoPull closure that draws tension along the top and the bottom of the belt. A sliding sternum strap and load-lifter straps allow you to fine-tune fit with on-the-go adjustments. The Farpoint 40 comes in two sizes. The Small/Medium size accommodates torsos less than 19" in length while a Medium/Large size fits torso lengths greater than 19 inches. Whether loading the Farpoint 40 in an overhead compartment or checking it at the airport or the train station, you can safely tuck the harness and hipbelt behind an integrated zippered security panel to ensure that your pack stows safely.
Both sizes of the Farpoint 40 offer ample room for carrying clothes and gear. The Small/Medium version provides 2319 cubic inches of storage capacity while the Medium/Large has a 2441 cubic inch capacity. The main packbag is accessed by a wide-opening front panel zipper. A large, zippered mesh pocket on the inside of the front panel is ideal for separating and organizing clothes and gear. Internal compression straps allow you to safely secure the contents of the Farpoint 40. Stretch-woven front pockets keep water bottles and other gear close at hand.
Constructed of durable ripstop and polyester fabrics, the Osprey Farpoint 40 convertible travel pack/carry-on is available in your choice of color and size options.

Likes: Excellent design and construction down to the little things like the zipper tabs. It will be the only luggage for my foreign travels. Hopefully I won't need the sternum strap whistle.
Dislikes: I don't travel with a laptop so the padded sleeve may work for magazines and dirty laundry
Likes: Perfect for the several two day trips I take for work. I was tired of the wheeled carry-on in the airport. with the pack strapped on or using the shoulder sling you can navigate airports with both hands free. The Farpoint 40 gives you all the room you need and makes you travel smart. The quality is outstanding. Will only purchase Osprey luggage in the future.
