Providing maximum versatility for no-matter-what backcountry cooking the innovative Optimus Polaris Optifuel stove utilizes Single Jet Optifuel Technology to allow it to function as a canister (sold separately) stove or operate with the use of any number of liquid fuels.
The Polaris Optifuel’s unique Single Jet has a built-in magnetic cleaning needle that ensures reliability for burning propane white gas kerosene or any number of liquid fuels (NOTE: Do not use automobile gasoline as it is volatile extremely flammable and often releases hazardous vapors when ignited). It will boil water in as little 3.4 minutes using white gas depending on climate altitude and other factors.
The stove can also be used with an Optimus butane/propane gas canister (sold separately). In colder conditions you can invert the canister to conserve fuel and improve 4-season performance.
A quick-priming burner offers reliable performance even in challenging conditions. The burner rests inside a lightweight aluminum housing that connects to three sturdy fold-away pot supports. Serrated to better support pots and toothed to improve overall stove stability the legs offer a wide cooking base but collapse against the housing of the stove to keep packed size to a minimum.
The Optimus Polaris Optifuel stove includes a 0.4 L fuel bottle a heat-reflecting windscreen and a stuff bag.

Real Customer Reviews
- Overall, my favorite go-to stove
Likes: Design is compact, pump and fuel bottle included, operates flawlessly if directions followed which are simple, durable, no flare-ups (yet) and gives the Whisperlite and Dragonfly (MSR) a run for top backpacking stove. Stand and pot-holder more stable than the above
Dislikes: Weight only, but still worth the extra few ounces
- It's very easy to use.
Likes: It burns well.
Dislikes: I don't have that.
- Great Stove
Likes: This is one rugged SOB. I love that it can burn pretty much anything... even gasoline if you're in a pinch. The construction is solid and it should see a lifetime or two of use in my opinion.
Dislikes: Not a single thing.
- Excellent stove capable of using almost any fuel
Likes: Great compact size for motorcycle touring
High quality construction
Don’t have to change the jet when burning different fuels
- well worth the money
Likes: it may not be the smallest stove out there, but for the $, this stove can't be beat. Love the dual fuel capability, and the ability to boil, simmer and generally control temps. takes your backpack cooking to a new dimension
Dislikes: um, nothing ;-)
