An all synthetic upper and a rugged, high-performance outsole package combine to make the Oboz Men’s Traverse Mid BDry boot a lightweight, durable, and breathable choice for hiking or backpacking. Waterproof construction bolsters its versatility.
Full synthetic uppers that offer great abrasion resistance, a stable midsole and a durable rugged outsole make the Oboz Traverse Mid BDry a great option for hikers or backpackers. Let’s take a closer look at its features.
So starting with the upper, we have got full synthetic materials here. They are going to offer great flexibility and abrasion resistance. So it is not going to have the same break in time that you would find with a leather boot, but it still has the durability and the long life.
Around the back to enhance that comfort and that supportive fit, we have got Oboz’ molded heel cup. It is a really stable base that this going to hold your foot in place throughout the life of the shoe. So it is a really nice feature there.
As the name suggests, we do have a BDry membrane throughout the entire shoe. It is a fully waterproof breathable membrane. So it is going to keep your foot dry. And it has a wicking liner on the inside which is going to help to pull sweat away and keep your foot breathing well.
If we look at the hardware here, we have got metal hardware throughout in the eyelets here. So that this just another enhancement for the durability. It is going to add some value there. It is a really nice feature. And looking up toward the top we have got Oboz BFit lacing system. It is a really neat system that kind of works on a pulley system so it helps to pull the shoe in around the top of the foot without pinching or binding, but creating a nice, stable, firm hold, nice features on the upper of this shoe.
Down toward the midsole we have got a dual density EVA with a nylon shank. It is going to provide really good shock absorption overall, a really nice comfortable ride throughout the day on these... in these boots.
On the inside we have got a really neat foot bed here that I haven't seen in many other pairs of shoes. Oboz uses the BFit deluxe insole. It is a really cool insole that provides really stable support. So unlike those flimsy insoles you may find in other shoes, these ones are really nice and rigid and they have got just a really nice arch support to them.
On the bottom we have actually got some EVA foam pads, which are just going to add to that shock absorption and that overall comfort. So that is a really nice feature there in the Oboz Traverse.
So moving down to the outsole we have got Oboz Granite Peak Outsole. And there is also a light weight TPU chassis in there. That chassis is going to provide almost like a lightweight armor for the underside of your foot. It is going to protect from rocks and stone bruising as well as any other sharp objects on the trail. It is also going to provide a lot of rigidity without compromising the flexibility of the boot.
As far as the Granite Peak outsole, you have got four millimeter directional lugs which are really rugged and toothy. They are going to really grip into the trail and provide a stable bit of traction while you are out and about.
A really nice feature about this tread, too, is that it comes up around the side of the boot slightly. So on off camber trails and on crooked trails it is going to provide some durability and some grip on the side of the shoe as well as all throughout the bottom. So it is a really nice outsole there, really rugged, durable, thick. I could see this being a really great sole over a long period of time.
So there you have it. It is the Oboz men’s Traverse Mid BDry. It is a really great synthetic shoe. So it has got that flexibility right out of the box, but it doesn't compromise on stability or support.
