Equipped with confident traction, ample cushioning, and lightweight but durable synthetic construction, the Oboz Men’s Sawtooth Low trail shoe is a highly-breathable option for performance-demanding hikers who prefer a low cut shoe to a boot.
Offering durable materials and good ventilation the Oboz Men’s Sawtooth Low is a good trail shoe for anybody who wants performance and durability without getting into a full fledged boot. Let’s take a closer look at its features.
So starting with the upper we have got a really nice nubuck leather with a highly abrasion resistant mesh. There is a lot of venting here, so that is going to provide ample breath-ability while the nubuck leather provides the durability that you will need on the trail.
Now note that this is not a waterproof shoe. So if you step in a creek or a deep puddle water can get through these materials and into the shoe. So as much has those vents are going to provide great breathability, they are not waterproof. So be aware of that when getting the Sawtooth Low.
Now looking at the rest of the upper, around the back of the heel here we have this mold-ed heel counter. It is a really nice supportive heel cup that maintains durability and rigidity throughout the life of the shoe. So it is going to hold up no matter what you throw at it.
Moving down into the midsole we have got a dual density EVA with a nylon shank, really nice impact resistance and shock absorption. So it is going to provide comfort over the period of time that you are on the trail. On the inside we have got Oboz BFit Deluxe in-sole. It is a really nice insole that is going to provide stability and rigidity in the heel and in the arch of the shoe. It is a lot different than what I have seen in other shoes, because it has actually got support. It is not just a flimsy piece of foam that they throw in as an in-sole. It is pretty tough plastic there so it is going to hold the foot in the shape and it is go-ing to really provide a stable support for your arch.
Also on the bottom of this footbed we have got these little EVA pads. And they are going to just add to the comfort by providing a little bit of extra shock absorption that you may want while you are out there on the trail.
Going down to the outsole, or the bottom of the shoe, we have got Oboz’ Sawtooth out-sole. It is a really nice tread pattern here, really beefy lugs that are self cleaning. So they are going to shed the mud and shed the dirt. And it is, you know, overall very durable and grippy. And a really cool feature about this, as well, is that they come up around the sides of the shoe, which is another thing that I haven’t really seen in other footwear. So it is going to provide really good grip on the sides as well as some extra protection. So on those off camber trails or on those kind of crooked trails you are going to get some good traction as well.
Also it has got that nylon shank throughout so it is going to provide some really good torsional rigidity.
So there you have it. It is the Oboz Men’s Sawtooth Low, a great trail worthy shoe for somebody who wants really good breathability as well as durability.
