An excellent warm-weather option for side sleeping backpackers or anyone who wants more ergonomic room and comfort in a sleeping bag, the NEMO Riff 30 Degree bag utilizes a unique "Spoon Shape" design to provide adjustable comfort and weight savings.
Down insulation has long been renowned for its compressible properties and efficiency in delivering an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. The shortcoming of down has been its susceptibility to the effects of moisture, losing much of its performance qualities when wet or damp. The Riff 30's premium 800-fill Nikwax Hydrophobic down insulation provides water-repellency that keeps the insulation dry longer and allows it to dry faster if it should become wet. More importantly, it maintains thermal efficiency even if it becomes wet, a quality that could traditionally only be found in heavier, less-compressible synthetic fills. The bag's lightweight 20D ripstop nylon shell has a DWR treatment to further protect the insulation from the elements.
NEMO’s innovative Spoon Shape contours give you extra space where it matters most. The cut starts wide in the shoulders, tapers in at the hips for comfort and warmth, and flares back out through the knees, letting you bend and shift naturally throughout the night. Another unique feature is NEMO's "Thermo Gills", zippered panels that enable you to vent body heat at your core without having to unzip the entire bag. This temperature regulation feature allows the bag to remain comfortable in varying temperatures. A waterproof/breathable footbox protects the bag further from the condensation build up that frequents the inside of tent walls.
Other comfort features include a fully-insulated hood and NEMO’s soft, down-filled Blanket Fold design. This insulated panel at the collar of the bag mimics home bedding and can be tucked around the face on cold nights or lay flat when it’s not needed. A contoured side zipper and down-insulated draft tube keep cold air out of the bag's interior. Drawcord adjustments around the face can be tightened or loosened as needed. A small zippered pocket provides a place to safely stash valuables.
Available in your choice of Regular (fits to 6’ 0") and Long (6’ 6") lengths, the NEMO Riff 30 Degree sleeping bag includes a stuff sack and a storage sack.

Real Customer Reviews
- Just what I needed
- Roomy, quality bag
Likes: The design is great for anyone who moves around when they sleep. I’m 5’10” and in the past have not slept comfortably in a typical mummy bag. Would recommend this for anyone with wide shoulders. Haven’t field tested but seems really comfortable and the material feels great.
Dislikes: None yet
- Excellent bag
Thermos gills work really well
Comes with compression sack
Temperature rating is accurate
Dislikes: Doesn’t compress as much as anticipated
Not for ultra light packers
Zipper is difficult to fully enclose while inside
Head cinch area is hard to access with pillow inside
- Perfect bag for 30s-60s
Likes: Perfect for a large range of sleeping temperatures, vents really help and opening the bag allows you to sleep in even warmer climates
- Very Pleased!
Likes: I love this bag... It is very comfortable in most temperatures thanks to its clever venting scheme. I never had a night where I was too hot or cold. The Spoon shape is also something that Nemo did really well with! It is great for active sleepers and it allows me to move freely and never feel restricted. The included stuff sack is very good and when packed the bag is smaller than my sleeping pad.
Dislikes: I haven't found much to dislike about this bag; 10 uses and this is probably the best bag I have ever owned. I would however like to be able to unzip the bag past my feet just to get a little more airflow if I really needed to. The fact that the bag only unzips to about mid-calf is really my only gripe so far. As a whole I am very happy with the bag and just how helpful Backcountry Edge was helping me get all the gear I needed in time for my adventures.
Likes: Lofty, comfortable. Hard to climb out of this cozy bag!
