Mountainsmith Rhyolite 6061 trekking poles are an unbeatable value. Made of durable-yet-lightweight 6061 aluminum, these poles are ready to help you handle tough trail conditions or simply offer balance on more casual outings.

These 3-section telescoping poles feature an anti-shock system and a Double Cam twist-locking mechanism. The Rhyolite 6061’s molded EVA grips are both soft and firm for a more comfortable handhold. Adjustable webbing/neoprene straps and an integrated anti-shock system help to minimize impact on your joints.

The carbide tips provide traction on ice and rock, and removable rubber boot tips are provided for off-trail use. The narrow profile hiking baskets can be removed quickly without tools and left at home or replaced with snow baskets (sold separately).

Sold in pairs, Mountainsmith Rhyolite 6061 trekking poles expand to 54" (137 cm) and collapse to 26.5" (67 cm).

  • Spring loaded anti-shock system with twist lock-out feature

Poor Rubber Tip Durability
Reviewed by Ryan H. - March 16, 2016

Likes: Strong poles, good grips, feel like good quality at the price point.

Dislikes: The rubber tips will wear down very quickly on asphalt. In my case they were ruined after a single 8 mile hike. Buy a pair of better tips if you plan to use these on the road!
