A trimmed-down version of the best-selling Tungsten tent, the Marmot Tungsten UL 2P maximizes livability while keeping weight (3 lbs, 3.8 oz) at a place that caters to backpackers.
Easily accessed on either side by dual D-shaped doors, the interior of the tent offers 32 square feet of floor space. A front vestibule provides 9.8 square feet of weather-protected external storage space and a smaller vestibule over the second door offers an additional 5.2 square feet of protection. A lamp shade pocket meant to hold a headlamp (not included) can provide ambient interior lighting.
The unique, pre-bent "knees" of the tent's DAC Pressfit aluminum poles pull the tent body taut, avoiding the unusable corners frequently found inside tents and maximizing livability. Employing integrated color-coded clips, the tent body attaches quickly, easily, and securely to the poles, creating a freestanding design that enables you to set up the tent and then move it around your chosen campsite to find the optimal rock-and-root-free position.
Extensive mesh on the walls and ceiling ensure excellent ventilation and keeps condensation to a minimum. Both the fully weatherproof rain fly and floor are seam sealed and the catenary cut of the floor keeps the edges of the tent away from the ground in wet weather. A compatible, custom-fit footprint (sold separately) can be used to further protect the floor of the tent from sharp objects, mud and ground water.

Real Customer Reviews
- Great tent for the price.
Likes: Quality materials and manufacturing. Lightweight with easy set up and take down. I also liked the repair kit with 3 colors of the tent in the material repair kit. I liked the aluminum splint repair in case you break or bend a pole. Also plenty of room for a big guy. I'm 602 and 320 lbs. and I had plenty of room.
Dislikes: Only one minor thing. The flap over the zipper sometimes gets caught in the zipper, but could be removed easily without any damage to the zipper or flap.
- Finally a long tent
Long enough for a 6'4" dude
- Nice tent but heavier than spec
Likes: Better color than the Marmot Blaze tents out there that lacerate my eyes. Lots of mesh, lots of headroom, an all-around well designed tent. The polyester fly material is so much better than silnylon, even if it's heavier. Price for weight is AWESOME, even with the following note about the weight:
Dislikes: The listed "minimum weight" is misleading if not just wrong. The body, fly, and poles weigh 3lbs 8oz. There is no configuration of this tent that weighs 3lbs 3.8oz as they say. I took off a star for that. Maybe a production sample had a silnylon fly that was 4 ounces lighter? That being said, I'm not unhappy with the 3.5lb weight because it's still great for a 2p tent. But why fudge it? There is definitely a need for budget tents in the lightweight gear space, just give us accurate specs. I think these tents should have caught on more than they did and there's a marketing problem at Marmot.
- Light tent for two person for fast-n-light trekking
Likes: Pitched in less than 5 minutes. The green color of the tent is very nice in forrest. The two vestibules are both quite large and provide more than enough room for gear. The weight is fantastic for such a roomy tent. Very compact.
Dislikes: The mesh easily gets stretched. It comes with exactly 6 stakes, and there aren't any loops on the fly for additional guy lines which causes a little bit of a problem in heavy rain.
- Perfect for one or two!
Likes: Fits my wife, my dog, and I very comfortAbly. Easy and quick set up, need no light to get it together in nascar pit crew break neck speed.
Dislikes: Wish tent poles could collapse down smaller for easier packability
- Nice and light
Likes: Just enough space to really work for 2 people. Free Standing.
2 doors and vestibules cover gear well. Zipper work one-handed.
Good ventilation even in hot weather
Dislikes: None yet. Not the absolute lightest, but for the features it has, it was the right compromise for me.
