The Marmot Never Winter 30 Degree sleeping bag is built for cool-to-mild weather backpacking and camping. For the price, you'd be hard pressed to find a better alternative to its combination of features and down-insulated performance. A relaxed mummy cut strikes a balance between warmth and comfort.
The Never Winter 30 Degree is insulated with 650+ fill down. Fill power measures the loft, or "fluffiness," of down insulation. Marmot goes to great lengths to guarantee the 650+ certification with a battery of in-house and external verifications. Renowned for their efficiency in retaining heat and compressible properties, the feathers and fibers of down have an incredibly soft, comfortable feel and, despite advances in synthetic materials, continue to provide the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation available. The one weakness of down insulation is that it loses much of its ability to maintain warmth when it gets wet; this is less of a problem in the Never Winter 30 Degree, though, since the down in this bag is protected with Marmot’s Down Defender water repellent treatment that allows the down to stay drier 10 times longer than untreated down in damp conditions. Down Defender down also maintains significantly more loft and dries faster than untreated down.
Eliminating cold spots and providing comfort, sewn-through baffles ensure that insulation is evenly distributed throughout the bag. Ground-level side seams make it difficult for body heat to escape through the zipper and a draft tube seals cold air out of the bag along the zipper. An ergonomic baffled hood helps to reduce heat loss and a down filled collar with drawcord adjustability helps to keep cold air from entering through the top of the bag. An integrated stash pocket provides a handy storage option for keys, lip balm and other small items. Zipper guards help to avoid irritating and damaging snags and two-way sliding zippers allows venting on warmer nights. An anatomically-shaped footbox is wider at the toes and narrower at the heels, providing a more natural fit while improving warmth and comfort.
The Marmot Never Winter 30 Degree sleeping bag is available in Regular (fits up to 6' 0") and Long (fits up to 6' 6") lengths. A stuff sack and a storage sack are included.

Real Customer Reviews
- Perfect for me
Likes: Took it backpacking in Yosemite for a 4 day hike and 3 more nights in the Valley. Very happy with how it performed! Temps did get chilly in the high Sierra's elevations but I still slept quite warm. Had a liner that fit well I side, but I found I didn't really need it. Bag was plenty for me. I did use a compression sack. A bit snug without it in both my Aether 85 and Stratos 34. Compression sack made packing a breeze. Highly recommended product!
Dislikes: None to mention.
- Very good bag.
Likes: I like this bag a lot. It is very warm even though it is very light. It is surprising how light it is in relation to how warm it is. The zipper is nicely protected on the inside with a tube of filled material next to it that covers it and prevents air from flowing through the zipper. It has an insulated shoulder area wrap on the inside that can be tightened up above your shoulders to keep warm air from escaping out of your neck area. And also the opening can be tightened up around your face, as well. And the footbox has a nice amount of room for the feet without being too roomy. I also like the green color. Very nice.
Dislikes: At 6'2" tall and having a little more padding around my midsection than I would like, this bag is just a little bit snug around the mid torso. If I were any larger it would be too snug. But as it is things are fine. I wear 40 inch waist (hopefully smaller in the future). So, if you are larger then me around the middle, this bag might be too small around for you.
