Named for its innovative, encircling overhead support pole, the Marmot Halo 4P offers 64 square feet of interior space for base camping or family camping. The tent is an ideal option when elbow room and overhead height are a priority.
In addition to its cavernous interior, the tent includes integrated vestibules that offer a combined 51 square feet (27 and 24 square feet, respectively) of sheltered exterior storage space. Large doors provide convenient access from either end of the tent. Interior pockets offer additional storage.
DAC DA17 aluminum poles lend the tent sturdy, freestanding support. A unique pole design combines two sections to form a hoop that encircles the entire top of the tent, helping to pull the walls taut and vertical, increasing the overall peak height and creating additional sturdy support for the rainfly. NOTE: Upon initial use, the poles that give the tent its "halo" name will bend slightly and even when collapsed the poles will no longer be perfectly straight. This is by design and is not indicative of a defect or any lack of structural integrity.
The main body is a combination of durable polyester taffeta and breathable No-See-Um mesh. Integrated "close canopy" panels add a measure of modularity and privacy. The polyester ripstop fly and polyester floor both have water-resistant coatings that ensure protection from the elements. The catenary cut floor also helps to keep you dry as do the taping applied to all seams of the tent. The compatible, custom-fit Halo 4P footprint, sold separately, can be used to further protect the floor of the tent from sharp objects, mud, and ground water.

Likes: Roomy and well ventilated with nice large entries and usable awning on the fly. Meaty floor, not as thin as other tents i own. Still use a footprint/tarp though. This tent is really the perfect 'Goldilocks' size. Not as big as my 6 person Silver Canyon and not as cramped in height as my limelight 3p. I am excited to use this again and as always, Backcountryedge.com came through with a speedy delivery and great service. Going 4 star on this tent for now. If anything happens positive or negative i will update it.
Dislikes: QA at the factory. Some of the threads were pulling out around the entry zippers. The fly, even though it kept us dry, felt like it didn't quite fit. I had it guyed out nicely and the velcro attach points all secure but the water still pooled up just about the halo and vestibule area, as if it was miss-sized. I had to tap it now and then to make sure the water puddle rolled off the fly. I am overall happy and not to worried as Marmot has a pretty solid lifetime warranty for their products.
