With a supportive frame, hybrid leather/Cordura construction, and a waterproof/breathable GORE-TEX lining, the Lowa Zephyr GTX Mid TF hiking boot is ideal for 3-season usage in a wide array of conditions and on varying terrain.
The GORE-TEX lining delivers waterproof/breathable performance that readies the boot for stream crossings and all day slogs in wet weather. The mix of leather and Cordura makes the boot more responsive than all-leather offerings but you should still expect a break-in period ahead of extended.
Lowa’s exclusive Monowrap construction ensures reliable stability even under the load of a heavy pack. Consisting of a dual-density PU heel counter, a full-length stabilizer embedded in the midsole, an integrated shock-absorbing midsole and a durable rubber outsole, this construction combines structural support, fatigue-preventative cushioning, and all-surface traction.
The Lowa Men’s Zephyr GTX Mid TF hiking boot is available in men's full and half sizes. To keep the leather on this boot in good shape and to prevent water absorption in the upper for the life of the boot you should apply a leather conditioner or wax paste (both sold separately) waterproofing treatment.

Real Customer Reviews
- Awesome but narrow
Likes: Unique look, quality materials used, Goretex
Dislikes: Not a dislike, wanted to keep them, I have a normal width foot and the support cage on the exterior of the boot was too narrow for me, I was bummed.
- Excellent mid weight boot. Extremely durable and comfortable.
Likes: Light weight
Dislikes: Leather changes color.
- Great boot. GTX is just a little too warm
Likes: Great support. Minimal break in. Very soft and comfortable shoe. Comfortable to wear all day.
Dislikes: Gortex is just a little too warm.
- Great boots just not for wide feet
Likes: Light weight, comfortable and very supportive.
Dislikes: Loved these boots but the were just too narrow for my wide feet. After wearing them for one day my little toe had blisters and I couldn't wait to take them off. If I would have had a wide size the boots would have heaven. If you don't have wide feet these boots would be a awesome choice. Great quality, comfortable and supportive.
- Great Boots
Likes: Comfortable, Not Too Heavy, Good Traction
- Best boots I've ever owned, this is my second pair
Likes: Quality, durability, looks, comfort
- Great boots so far!
Likes: Comfort and fit; light weight; quality construction; true fit, I wear 11.5 in the other Lowa shoes I have. I was originally thinking of buying a pair of trail runners to wear while ultra-light backpacking but felt I need more support than they would have given me. I decided to try the Lowa Zephyr GTX and I'm glad I did. I've only worn them around the house on hardwood and cement basement flooring but so far the boots are very comfortable. Almost like wearing a pair of running shoes but with much more support. I'll be wearing them on a backpacking trip to Virginia's Three Ridges area in a couple of weeks so I'll update this review after that trip.
Dislikes: Nothing so far.
