A best-selling option for multi-day and extended backpacking, the Lowa Renegade GTX Mid boot is supportive, durable and equipped with the traction and waterproof protection for any and all types of backcountry terrain and conditions.
The Renegade’s GORE-TEX lining delivers waterproof/breathable performance that readies the boot for stream crossings and all day slogs in wet weather. An all metal lacing system offers rugged durability and the opportunity to dial in fit. NOTE: There is a break in period with this boot due to the supportive nubuck leather construction.
Lowa’s exclusive Monowrap construction ensures reliable stability even under the load of a heavy pack. Consisting of a dual-density PU heel counter, a full-length stabilizer embedded in the midsole, an integrated shock-absorbing midsole and a Vibram EVO outsole, this construction combines structural support, fatigue-preventative cushioning, and all-surface traction.
The Lowa Renegade GTX Mid backpacking boot is available in men's full and half sizes as well as Medium and Wide widths and your choice of color options. To keep the leather on this boot in good shape and to prevent water absorption in the upper for the life of the boot you should apply a leather conditioner or wax paste (both sold separately) waterproofing treatment.

Real Customer Reviews
- Good comfortable lightweight boots
Likes: Lightweight for a boot. Waterproof. Comfortable. One of the few boots available in wide.
Dislikes: Lacing is sometimes frustrating and not secure. Durability could be better.
- Lightweight, Sturdy, and Comfortable
Likes: The Lowa Renegade feels robust and sturdy yet light on the foot. Gore-Tex lining combined with height keeps feet dry during moderate immersion. In my experience, comfortable in temperatures ranging from 30-90 degrees fahrenheit. Looking forward to the journeys.
Dislikes: Short break-in period (10 miles) with some irritation where collar hits about ankle. Lace-lock is effective majority of time. Would like to know more about Slovakian production practices.
