Light and sturdy, the LEKI Wanderfreund Antishock cane features advanced locking mechanisms, antishock and an ergonomic grip to offer support in a wide variety of conditions and terrain.
Delivering light weight, packable and very sturdy performance, the LEKI Wanderfreund Antishock Travel Cane is great for day to day use and travel. We will take a look at all the features and what makes this cane so great.
This is a true traditional telescoping pole so you have got three shaft sections here. And, again, that is really strong, but also lightweight aluminum construction. Inside the shaft sections you have LEKI’s Super Lock System. So that delivers really, really sturdy internal locks there. And the usable length of this pole is 24 and a half inches up to 47 and a half inches or up to 120 centimeters. So you have a lot of adjustability here. And the way to adjust it is really simple with this super locks. You just twist it open to loosen it up, adjust it to your preferred height and then twist it closed.
And with this pole the usable length is the entire shaft sections of the trekking pole. So you can use this pole at any length and there are no markings on these poles, because of that. So you can adjust it to as short or as tall as you like. And those Super Lock Systems are going to be really reliable.
Between the middle and lower sections of the pole is where you have LEKI’s soft, anti-shock. So this is just going to take away the vibration that would come though the pole on improved surfaces, if you are walking for long days. It is definitely going to take the strain off of your wrists and elbows and shoulders so you have a really great feature there.
Going up to the top on the grip you have LEKI’s Aergomed grip. And you can use this in a couple of different ways. You can use it as a standard cane. So you can use the top of it. You can palm the top of the pole if you like, or you can also use the grip a little bit lower down. So you can use it more like a traditional trekking pole if you like. There is a nice soft strap there, safety strap. And that can take he pressure off of your wrists as you are walking with this cane.
Going down to the tip you have got LEKI’s carbide flex tip and it does come standard with a rubber tip protector on there. So that is just press fit. You can take that off. If you are on improved surfaces it is really great to use this rubber tip, but if you are on the trail or if you are traveling and you need that carbide flex tip to bite into the surface that you are walking on this is the carbide flex tip that is on all of LEKI’s other trekking poles. So really good performance there. And this whole tip itself is a replaceable piece. So in the unlikely even that you get the pole caught between rocks or in a position that might break the trekking pole, this tip is meant to break first. Just as well after years of use if you need to replace that tip, you can buy them separately and it is replaceable.
All in all the LEKI Wanderfreund Antishock Travel Cane is easy to use, fully featured. It is lightweight. It is a telescoping pole so it breaks down to be pretty small for travel and it is definitely reliable for every day use.
