LEKI Cristallo Antishock trekking poles offer high-performance features at a budget-friendly price. Easy-to-use external locking mechanisms, integrated shock absorption and ergonomic grips equip the poles for varied terrain.
Durable, reliable and easy to use, the LEKI Cristallo Antishock Trekking Poles are fully featured with antishock, easy to use locks, really nice grips and we will take a look at all the features and what makes this pole so great.
This is a three sectioned telescoping trekking pole, meaning that each section telescopes down into the others. And while this isn’t an ultra compact pack size, you can telescope this down to be pretty small for travel. You have got durable aluminum construction. And with any of LEKI’s aluminum poles, you have a 100 percent guarantee for life on break-age of the shaft section. So that just speaks to the durability and the quality of LEKI trekking poles.
With this pole, since you have antishock down here in the bottom section, you do have two different locks. The lock between the top and the middle section is LEKI’s Speed Lock 2 locking mechanism which is super easy to use. You just open this lever with your thumb, adjust it to the proper height and then lock it closed. So that lock couldn’t be any easier. Down here at the bottom you have LEKI’s Super Lock System. And this is a very secure lock. It is actually on the interior of the shaft section of this pole. So in order to loosen it, you just unscrew, again, adjust to you preferred height. And then once you feel that starting to bite when you screw it down, give it another quarter turn and you have got a very secure lock.
LEKI put the antishock mechanism here towards the bottom of the pole and that really helps in durability of the pole. So you have that antishock mechanism closer to the bot-tom. As you are hiking on either hard improved surfaces or if you are hiking for long miles at a time, this antishock mechanism is going to really take off the vibration that would come through the pole as you are hiking with it. So that is going to take pressure off of your wrists and your elbows and your shoulders and it is just a soft antishock. So it is still a very, very stable pole even though you have a little bit of give with that anti-shock.
Moving up here to the grip of the pole, you have very comfortable AERGON soft rubber grips here. So with rubber it is very, very durable. It is a soft rubber so it feels nice on your hands and it is very ergonomic. So you have really nice shaping, really nice grip on there.
On the top of the pole it is sort of egg shaped. So you can really palm the top of this pole really easily. If you are going down hill and you need to get your hand on top of the pole you can use it that way, or if that is how you like to use trekking poles, there is a nice dimpling on the top there, so it gives a nice grip.
And then you have a really nice woven strap here, very comfortable, easy to adjust. So the adjustment here, all you need to do is pull up on that top section. That loosens this so that you can make minor adjustments and then lock it closed. So, again, really comfortable strap. That is really going to take the strain off of your wrists. You are going to have a little bit of a cradle there for your wrists as you are hiking.
Moving down to the tip of the trekking pole you have LEKI’s carbide flex tips. And this is a really durable, yet a little bit flexible piece down here on the end. And this is going to protect the shaft sections of your poles. So in the unlikely event that this were to get wedged between two rocks, this is meant to break first or meant to flex first before the actual shaft section of the pole. It is a replaceable piece. So after years of use if you need to replace that carbide end, it is just a press fit tip. You can remove the old one and re-place it with a new one.
You do have the standard performance baskets that give you a little bit of floatation and these are removable as well. So there is threads on this tip so you can take that basket off if you need to replace it with a wider diameter snow basket. It is really easy to change those out as well.
The adjustability here with this pole gives you a wide range of use. The usable length here is 100 centimeters all the way up to 135 centimeters. So that is going to accommodate most people’s range for what they need. And, again, with those two different types of locks you have a really durable, really secure system here. It is easy to use. You have got that guarantee from LEKI on the shaft sections of the poles. So all in all this is a great option for any traveler, back packer who needs a lot of stability with a heavy pack, day hiking and every day use.
It is the LEKI Cristallo Antishock Trekking Poles.
